“After ordering from all six Chinese restaurants that are in South Elgin or bordering on Elgin, I can confidently say this restaurant has the best Chinese food in the area.

The food quality and flavor is not only on par or better than all of the others, but the pricing is the most fair as well.

With respect towards the other Chinese restaurants, I don't see why I would order Chinese food from anyone else while this establishment is around.”

“Usually, there is a food truck this time was pizza individual sized and tasty. Maybe a couple dollars more than I had expected for a a bit bigger than personal size but, very tasty. Atmosphere is relaxing and casual. One patron brought their dog, very chill. Great beers on tap along with wines and porters. Seating is inside and outside. Can't beat this place for leisure. If lot is full they have the grass roped off for parking.”

Every time I visit, I get something new and am never disappointed. If you like fresh and complex flavors, come to Vive. Nothing is ever too sweet or too much - just right. It's convenient they're right on the strip too so finding free parking is easy.”

“It was uncomfortably loud in the room behind the bar. But the bar area was even louder. I asked the ser we if I could have the fried fish baked. She said that she didn't think so, but she would ask. So I ordered a salad. She brought the salad and the food for the other three at the table. We are. When we were just about finished she brought two very small baked pieces of fish. Hhhhhmmm. I did eat them. They were OK. We have been there before. Not super impressed. I can recommend the fried haddock. It is good.”

Tanya who was our waitress and coordinator for the setup in the back room was absolutely amazing. She was super friendly and helpful with everything. You can tell she loves her job since she was always smiling. You have a great worker with Tanya. Also, the cast and crew loved the pizza and salads.”

“Anyone who disparages this establishment doesn’t know good, take out Italian that you’re looking for. Thin crust is also stellar that I order often. Flaky crust. But their deal on Wednesday for bogo pasta for a buck is HANDS DOWN! the best deal in town. My top two are the stuffed shells and lasagna. Two pics are large stuffed shells. My favorite. One with meat sauce, one with marinara. Even after prices were raised it’s only $14. Could be 4 meals but usually only two for me. $7 a meal? Good luck. Not for this quality. And two 6” halves of French garlic bread in this deal! I’ve seen bay leaves and garlic cloves in the sauce. It’s quality scratch cooking for the best price in town! Well done👏

And for the best sandwich in the area, go with a Ricks beef! Get plenty of napkins and maybe two-tree forks. It’s the fresh tomato that makes it! So good.”

“I've never had a bad experience at Portillo's. I brought my Mom here from California. She was surprised at how inexpensive it was.
She had a hotdog with fries and I had a cheesy beef.

One thing we learned... while they do have gluten free separate fryer... ALL the oil from ALL the fryers goes through the SAME filtration system, which CONTAMINATES the oil! So people with celiac disease may be glutened!

“Stopped in last Sunday and they happened to be having free wings and potato wedges if you ordered a Bloody Mary. Bartender, Jasmine, was super friendly and told us about other specials they offer other days. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a new place to have a drink at a local Dive Bar.”

I’ve tried a lot of places and this is it right here ! my boyfriend was tired got off work late and was craving the ceviche and they did not have to go out of the way and prepare it when already closed but they did !
