Beef Villa is always a hit, better than your usual fast food joints.
Cheese fries are a must! Love that they have daily specials.

Took an amazing amount of time to make my hot dog. And it was slow.

They did not review the order as I requested it, and apart from that, everything was cold.

I moved to Elgin from Chicago nearly 40 years ago. I grew up on Chicago hot dogs and beef's. Beef Villa serves the traditional Chicago dog's and beefs. In fact all their food is outstanding. I moved out of the area about 10 years ago, but today I was in Elgin and stopped in at Beef Villa on Larkin for a combo sandwich. I'm happy to report they are still killing. The combo was great, the service was just as great. I have tried them all east of Chicago, none compare to Beef Villa, not Beef Shack, not Buona, not Tom and Jerry's, not even Mr. C's and Big Sammy's and certainly not Portillo's, These places have good food, but not Beef Villa good. Beef Villa is the bench mark for Chicago style hot dogs and Italian Beefs east of Chicago.

The beef is great, if a lil pricy anymore, but what isn't? This place is an Elgin icon, same location for years and years. Put it in your mouth and expierience joy of beef.

I ordered a Chicago Dog with Kielbasa instead of your typical all beef frank. Topped off with home made giardineria
Very disappointed in the flavor of the beef. Very bland. I've always enjoyed the quality of the food but its been a few years since I've had the opportunity to be in the area. Won't be going back again.

If you went by memories I would have given B.V. 10 stars. Back in the day--some 48 years ago--I went to high school across the street at Larkin Highschool. The high school was overcrowded so to help with the situation we had an open campus. This allowed the students to leave the grounds.
One of the hottest spots for us was Beef Villa. At the time french fries were as popular as the beef--short for Italian beef. The hot and sweet peppers were free and looked like peppers. Today the peppers cost extra but I believe they are still worth the price.
The fries would be equivalent to two or three large McDonald's fries. They would last as long as the beef's. The best part--there was only one size.
In the present day the fries come in a paper cup. If you want more you need to buy a medium or large size.
Those old enough to remember back then drinks never had free refills. You needed to make sure you had enough money to buy a second drink otherwise you'd have to settle for water. This is something I had to do more times than I'd prefer to mention. Today drink's have free refills.
When it comes to atmosphere it could use a redo. It looks old.
