Ordered a hot dog, Italian beef, fries and a drink. The beef and fries were great. The hot dog was pretty good. Only negative is the prices which are up there. The order was $26. It wasn't that long ago that my wife and I could go to a casual sit down restaurant and get 2 full dinners for $30.

Picture of chili fries is not what I received. I don't like peppers or cheese sauce. They argued and copped an attitude then offered to make it up to me by serving me an undercooked batch of regular fries.

Ended up throwing away half the gyro. Alright price around 9 dollars. Gyro tasted old and was no able to finish it. Seemed like the pita bread might have been bad.

I love Big Sammy’s food but even more I love big Sammy. Ironically, my dad’s name is Sammy (not Sam or Samuel; he’s legally Sammy) but all of his grandkids called him Big Daddy. Today, I got out of my car and my parent’s wedding band engraved with their names and the date of their wedding flew off of my finger and under the car next to mine. I looked under the car and thought I could see it but couldn’t reach it. I went into Sammy’s to see if someone owned the car beside me and if they would be willing to move it so I could retrieve my ring. Sammy himself was working at the counter. He could tell I was upset and asked me if I had hit the car. I explained what happened and he asked the entire restaurant if they owned the car and no one did. Then he brilliantly suggested using a broom to retrieve it. He even sent someone out to help me. I found the ring and will always be forever grateful to Sammy and his staff. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Sammy a few times and he always has a huge welcoming and genuine smile when he sees his customers. Go for the food. Stay to meet the man; Big Sammy. By the way Sammy, I go by Sam or Samantha after my dad. I hope I make both of you proud to know the Sam I am strives to be the Sammy my dad was and the Sammy you are. Thank you so much!! I was a loyal customer of Big Sammy's in Elk Grove Village for many years. This was my first visit to the Elgin location. It will be my last!! An almost $20,00 combo meal. Italian beef with peppers, fries and a drink. The best part of the meal was the little container of peppers. The bread was old and dry. Fell apart. The beef was tough, cold and dripping in grease. Not juice but grease. The fries so so. For almost $20,00...... whst a disappointment!!

Huge Big Sammy's fan but didn't think this location was as good as Schaumburg. Help wasn't very friendly and food just a tad behind that of its predecessor. Ill stick with going to Big Sam when im out in Schaumburg.

gyros are delicious. everything is always fresh. I recommend it. if in those locations. I always have lunch there. the design is not modern but always clean. and the restroom is clean and has a pleasant smell.
