Table of 7. Asked if we should spit into two groups. She said no it’ll be ten minutes. After 35 minutes and group after group of four going in before us we asked and still had no time in sight. We left. Terrible service.

The overall environment is lovely, but that is where the pleasantness ends. Our server started out attentive, but must have noticed how displeased we were and started avoiding our table. My husband had the egg wrap (marinated chicken was super dry) and I had the create your own omelette. There's a distinct difference between under seasoned and NOT seasoned. The most flavorful thing I ate was the jelly on my toast.
When I got to the register, the girl asked how things were and I told her about the seasoning. Apparently asking how things were was just a formality because she ignored my feedback.
Will not be back.

My friends and I ate breakfast here, and the payment process was a mess. I was initially told my payment didn't go through and had to sort it out separately. Eventually, it seemed like everything was resolved. However, I was later contacted by a manager, Ingrid, who said one of my friend's payments failed. Without my consent, they charged me for my friend's meal, even though she had already paid and we had confirmation that the transaction was successful. This was handled very poorly.

I was at Burnt Toast recently. The portions were good, and the prices are great. Server's and staff are friendly and the food, was very good.

Food was average but WAY overpriced. $4 coffee?! For 2 people with a pretty simple breakfast order it was 70 dollars! Insane! The service was impeccable. That was it's only saving grace. Won't be back.

I have been going to Burnt Toast on and off for years. It’s been a little inconsistent from time to time, but have overall had good experiences. Today was not one of them. I ordered the blintzes which were great, one of my all time favorites. My mom ordered the very berry baked french toast and was extremely disappointed. We told the waitress expecting her to offer something else, but she just stood there and said there is nothing she could do. We asked for the manager and the waitress first refused to get the manager. I pushed to see her. She went over and spoke to the manager, but the manager pushed back and argued with the waitress until she finally came over. There was no greeting and she just started to explain their policy without any kindness. It was AWFUL and ruined our whole experience. The hostess asked us how our experienced and we said terrible. She took the time to listen and said she is a waitress there and would have taken care of us if we were her table. She said the manager there was subbing. Whoever that manager needs to never sub again. We will probably never go back there.

We arrived in town on Friday August 29, 2025 for a family wedding. Our hotel shared the same parking lot as Burnt Toast so a small group of us decided to check it out since it was too early to check in. Our server was Araceli. She was amazing and attentive to us even when our group got a little bigger. Food was amazing. Since we enjoyed Burnt Toast so much we decided to have a goodbye brunch on our last day. Spoke with Ingrid a day prior to make sure we could be accommodated. She got us in a private room (party of 30). Jennifer and Sandra took amazing care of us and made sure everyone was hydrated and fed. Ingrid personally came over and introduced herself and made sure we were all taken care of and even became our photographer. Thank you so much Ingrid, Araceli, Jennifer and Sandra for welcoming us in and taking amazing care of us. We will definitely be back whenever we make it back to Elgin.

I got the eggs benedict with ribs and asparagus. It was okay, a bit too experimental. The virgin bloody Mary was delicious and only $5. It's good sit down option for food if you are in the area.
