On Saturday night my girlfriend and I went into Cafe Roma to enjoy a nice dinner. As we were walking in we were not greeted by any of the staff, as we assumed it is because we are a younger couple. Throughout my meal I notice every patron that evening walking in and out was greeted and thanked for their business by the owner (presumedly), except for myself. As a young affluent business owner myself I always make it a point to go above and beyond for anybody that I do business. The cherry on top of the whole situation the people leaving before and after us we both thanked for their business on the way out, however we were not. Our server that evening provided great service and was tipped over 20% for her great efforts. This review would have more stars added onto it if I was treated with the same respect as everybody else that evening.

Cafe Roma did an exceptional job catering a lunch for our group of 60 travelers at the Elgin History Museum. Lisa was fantastic to work with. She accommodated all our dietary requests and came up with a wonderful lunch menu for us. Melissa was the on-site staff member. Food was delicious, Melissa was wonderful. Thank you Cafe Roma!!!

We have been customers at Cafe Roma for over 10 years and have always had amazing meals and outstanding service until tonight. Our meals were not edible. My friend ordered the pork chop vesuvio and the meat was so tough she could barely cut through it. It was supposed to be in garlic sauce but it was so watered down there was absolutely no taste. I ordered the Farafelle garlic EVOO with peppers and broccoli. Once again there was no taste of garlic. The pasta was sitting in a pool of water that was tasteless. We waited to talk to our server but she never came until the end. She never asked how the meal was even after we told her we would not need a box for our barely touched meal. Shame on us we should have said something but we were both stunned at her lake of awareness or concern. $70 for 2 meals that were not edible is a shame. We will not be back.

LOVE this hidden gem! We found it because we met the owner's son while on vacation in Alaska and he told us about his family's restaurant. This place is fabulous! EXCELLENT food, lots of it, great atmosphere, We will be returning.
Was my first time at Cafe Roma and the hostess told us that it was going to be a 20 minutes wait but if we wanted to sit in the patio there was no wait, then she left and didn’t tell us anything more. Couple minutes later another hostess came by and we told her that we were waiting us to be seated at the patio and she said the patio was not open that we needed to wait. We just decided to leave for Jimmy Char house no drama there. Maybe I’ll go back to try again until one star is my rating. Said to see the lack of training with the personnel specifically in the food industry.

Terrible experience this time at Cafe Roma. On a Thursday before a holiday the place was packed. Three of us waited about ten minutes for a table. Not bad. The host seated us and brought three glasses of water for the table. What was really crappy was the table service. A fourteen top table was getting all the attention and we were solidly ignored for more than ten minutes. Not a drink order, not even an acknowledgment that they’ll be with us. Nothing. When a server finally showed up we ordered everything. Drinks, salad and entrees. That’s when I started a stopwatch on the phone. It took over twenty five minutes for our dinners to arrive. The food was fine. Sorry Cafe Roma, tonight was lousy

I’ve heard about this place for a while and finally was able to visit tonight with my kids and husband. Definitely a great space for young ones in the evening, especially those with sensory or sound sensitivities. Music and lighting was perfect. The space in general was smaller than I expected but that’s not a bad thing.
Our food was 10/10. My girls spilt pizza and fettuccine with shrimp. Salads were great. Definitely nothing bad to say there. It came out warm, fresh, and timely.
Our service was spectacular. Chris was kind, patient, and friendly. She was patient with the kids and very accommodating. We’ll be back soon and hope she’ll also be there too!

Wow, first disappointment ever there. Service was mediocre....and we were there early, the only table for about half an hour. Got my salad before my wine. Waitress did not come until after we were just about done with the meal to see how everything was. I very politely mentioned that my steak was quite overcooked and very dry. Mind you, I did not say it to get it free. But NO response.? Go back to better, Cafe Roma!
Good food. The restaurant is inside a commercial building. But again, the food is great.

We came to the area for a getaway weekend and found Cafe Roma. The service was great; the staff were polite; the pasta bolognese was delicious.
