Had Sister's bday party there. 12 people and excellent service. Large variety of Mexican food to choose from. Nobody had one complaint. Sombrero and ice cream for the bday girl.

I haven't explored too much of the menu here. I will say the salsa is a pico de gallo style salsa, not blended at all, just tomatoes, onions, jalapeños and cilantro. The chips are great and will last u til the next day if you get them to go. The queso is also very yummy here. The margaritas are good for being from a mix of some sort. They are not grossly sweet or fake tasting. They have a lot of draft choices, American drafts too, not just Mexican beers. get a draft, the bottles are the same price. Lastly, Carmina's just remodeled. there is all sorts if neon lit paintings now throughout the restaurant. it gives you something fun to talk about over dinner. Check them out especially if you live in the area.

We called to make sure that they were open till 11 because that’s what time the website said and they said oh it’s kind of slow we’re gonna be closing early tonight at 9 o’clock. Well I guess they lost business because we had a group of 7 to 8people that were going to show up.

We are at Carminas because it was on our way back to our hotel and we just wanted Mexican food. Gabby was our server and she was amazing!! The food was fresh. We had flautas and a skirt steak with delicious sauce. The rice and guacamole were excellent as was the refried beans. The atmosphere was wonderful with brightly colored murals on the walls. We are glad we took the chance and stopped. Planning a return visit when we are back on the area next August.
Good fast service extremely impressive, one of the best Mexican restaurants, greeted us and showed us to our table right away, excellent food, high-quality, and super flavorful, once we order food was there in 15 minutes literally, and I will be stopping there again for

A major shout out for Carmina's Mexican restaurant in Elgin! Our time there was the best! The food was absolutely scrumptious! Many thanks to our server Carmen whose recommendations were perfect. We had chicken enchiladas and chili rellenos - really everything we saw looked tremendous! And the margarita made by the manager Rene was one of the best I've ever had. Besides terrific food what a fun atmosphere. I took my picture by the mural of the sunset and the dock causing my sister to ask where I had been traveling!! What fun! Looking forward to more memorable times there!
