Food is good when I first walked in I thought I was in a Spanish restaurant it’s definitely a Chinese buffet food good clean you got to come here to see what I mean two cultures in one I still can’t stop laughing 🤣lol
I tried almost everything it was all bad with the exception of a few dishes. I would not go back. There were many options of terrible food.
I absolutely loved this buffet. They literally had something for everyone. Tons of selection, including sushi and the Mongolian grill. They also have a very good selection of spicy food for those who enjoy some heat in your food.
Excellent food!
Good food , prices are up but seems like economy is rising.
Good food 😋
We were looking online for a Chinese buffet and decided to try Elgin Buffet. It was our first time eating here. There was 5 of us and we all enjoyed the variety of different foods.
The food was delicious and fresh.I didn't see any empty pans. They were always filled.
The manager was very kind .The service was very good,as our dirty plates were removed from our table promptly.I would have to say this was our favorite Chinese buffet in the area and we will definitely be coming back.
Will be back again!! Love it
Update 3/13/25
This place has vastly improved from 13 years ago.
Everything is always good and greasy like you'd expect from a buffet at this price point. They have sushi, oysters if that's your things and hibachi.
A lot of things are Mexican-centric, like jalapenos in dishes, jalapenos by themselves, tajin lollipops and Mexican music playing 24/7.
I like the vibe and I think the owners are really smart for catering to their audience.
I have no complaints about this place anymore.
Sorry I didn't update this earlier, of Elgin Buffet

I had one plate and it made me feel sick. The place was pretty busy, so I really expected a fresh buffet. At least I hoped it would have been fresh at $12 per person. Unfortunately it was the usual week old slop found in this type of place. They use a lot of 5 spices and Siracha sauce. Not that I have a problem with either of those, but its on too many items. We couldn't tell if the pudding was vanilla, lemon or spoiled. Almond cookies were stale (I thought those had an eternal shelf life). On the bright side, some of the items seemed authentic. Fried shrimp complete with eyeballs, squid & mini octopus. At least it looked interesting. They should get rid of the crazy items and the sub par sushi and drop the price to $8.
Most sauces and seemed watered down or lacking flavor. We were there while it was busy, so food was continuously replaced. There is a large selection of seafood. I can't personally comment on it, but I was told it was just ok.
The space is small and a little dark, but our large table was sat fairly quickly. Plates were picked up frequently.
Restaurantji Recommends
limited choices, most containers empty, only a couple of meats and two fish. Terrible cooked. Online price is one and once there it is more. Small place, a lot of people cleaning all over the foods.
food is terrible with soggy egg rolls, mac and cheese that is literally just noodles in yellow water, the trays low on food. honestly for $60 for 3 people very disappointing in the quality of the food.
Horrible service
Racist attitude, not nice and charge higher than supposed price ,highly rude and really incompetent in providing good manners and good service
It's a great place to dine for your buck👍🏿
I went on a day around 6pm and the food overall was great! I also bought a bucket of 6 Coronas for 10 bucks. Great atmosphere and the music was great to listen too! I’ll be there again. We were a table of 7 people and everyone enjoyed the food since the food was coming out fresh.
