Old fashion diner. Great american food.
Update 10-05-24 I came back after some time absence from dining here. I was surprised on how food quality has degraded overtime. I’ve ordered biscuits and gravy and the taste was somewhat rancid. Also the coffee was watery and insipid. Will give a a second try sometime in the near future.

Great breakfast restaurant. Had the Golden Skillet skillet, delicious! Also recommend skirt steak and eggs with hash browns. Service was very good, restaurant is very clean.

Golden Skillet is a quaint restaurant with such delicious food. The buttermilk pancakes are my favorite and they are the best in town. Their menu has many options, from a classic meal to delicious yummy Mexican breakfast, such as their chorizo skillet made with authentic Mexican chorizo. The staff and their service at Golden Skillet is friendly, and our food arrived so prompt. I highly recommend this small owned business.

Parking: There is plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant and even more spaces on the right side of the building

I love this place for breakfast, wait staff is nice, food is great. Their ham steak is awesome and I also come for their pancakes. I live 3 hours away now, but I stop in every time I get back to Elgin.
