Came here with my boyfriend for a late lunch around 2pm. Our waitress was friendly and attentive- can’t remember her name but she had dark curly hair. I got the Chicken Saltimbocca. The chicken was herbal and had lots of flavor. It also came with mashed potatoes and a gravy which was phenomenal and asparagus which was meh. The asparagus was a bit fibrous and lacking in flavor. My boyfriend got the Jambalaya which i saw that other reviews recommended. He said it was good- 4/5 stars. I think overall for the prices we would have maybe expected a bit more from the dishes. I will say the restaurant itself is clean and classy. It has a great view and we actually sat outside because it was a nice day out. There were quite a few wasps since it was early fall- one landed in my food.

Grumpy Goat in Elgin is the spot! 🍻 The vibe is super chill and welcoming—you can come here to hang out with friends, watch a game, or just grab some seriously good food.
The menu? 🔥 Everything I’ve tried has been awesome—big portions, full of flavor, and they’ve got plenty of choices whether you’re feeling a burger, something a little creative, or just some shareable apps. And don’t sleep on the drinks the craft beer list is loaded and the cocktails hit the spot.
The staff makes the place even better. Everyone’s friendly, quick, and you never feel like you’re waiting around. It’s one of those places where you feel like a regular right away. George the owner is fantastic pleasure you speak with every time. Jennifer and Andi are the absolute best too. Many private parties done by then!
If you’re in Elgin and haven’t tried Grumpy Goat yet, you’re missing out. Great food, great drinks, great people, can’t go wrong here.

We had a great time here for dinner with our 2-year old. The servers were amazing, they were so friendly, welcoming and quick. Dinner arrived at our table in a reasonable time and it was delicious. I can’t remember the last time we had fries on our plate that were this perfect 👌. Portion sizes are great, it’s not overwhelmingly much like at other restaurants. They were so wonderful to our little toddler and toddlers can be handful. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I love this place. The food is fantastic and they have allot of options from burgers to full steak dinners. Its the best restaurant in the area in our opinion and we have lived near for 30 years. Management and staff are excellent.
Lunch on the elevated 2nd story outdoor deck with peaceful views overlooking the golf course - who knew it was so nice !

A friend and I came for lunch each ordering a wedge salad & a deep fried seafood choice.
Mine was calamari with breaded and deep fried jalapeño slices also breaded & deep fried. This was so delicious ! Very large portion so brought 1/2 home.
Shrimp tempura was my friend’s choice and she said so delicious.
We will be back !
