Custom cakes are delicious
The cake was absolutely delicious! We ordered for our wedding, just a small cake for us to cute with additional desserts for all. The cake had a fresh fruit inside that you could tell was actually fresh. Price seemed fair and delivery went smoothly, as far as we know but didn’t hear anything so sure it went great!

Wow I hear this is the owner who tanked and sold the mexican bakery on chicago and now all these reviews mimick the previous business. Stay away....the new owners on the Chicago street bakery no longer sell old pastries....check out the below review of the customer taking pictures of mold on the cake. Health dept. should shut this place down

Went in to buy some thumbprint cookies for our Christmas party. It had been awhile since I had been to Herbs. I was a bit shocked to be told the new price of a two pounds box was $36, but bought them anyway because nostalgia. NOPE! They were nasty. They were so overly disgustingly sweet. The sprinkles were hard as rocks and the actual cookie was just not the same. Three quarters of a full box ended up in the trash at the end of the day because nobody wanted them. Sad, but I won't make that mistake again....

Friendly service but the donuts were stale and some were actually hard- definitely wouldn’t recommend this place
Herbs has long been known as the best around. The people who own it now sale stale, more than day old goods. I bought danishes that were so stale they were not edible. You could tell they were not fresh by far. It is sad what they are doing to what used to be such a great establishment.
I used to go here a lot when I was kid. It’s under new ownership now, but still has the some of the same cookies and pastries that I remember from my youth.

I would not recommend this place at all. They don’t have there stuff together the guy who place my order Miguel has no idea what’s he doing. I asked him about the cost no idea, took my information no one called me back I had to call them back. He wrote what time I should be able to pick up the cake and I emailed them as well with all the information. The day off the birthday Called to make sure if the cake is ready and it’s not they have at a different time for the cake to be ready blows my mind how they are still in business. Please don’t buy here for ahead of time. your kids won’t have that cake on time.

Bad service, you order the cake at an exact time and then they call you to say that the cake is not ready and it takes 2 more hours, it is not the first time this has happened to me and they are rude when you ask them Call to ask about the order and how to get rid of the order and they say cancel it then.

I love their baked treats but their prices are a bit high. Customer service is decent but could be more welcoming. I'm often the only person in there and the clerk is always so quiet.

Have not been in for a while. Looks like the same old Herbs. Lot of pastries and donuts available at 11:00 am which did not used to be the case. Chocolate frosted cake donut is still very good.
Gone way down hill since Herb is no longer part of it. Crunch donuts are soggy, sugar cookies and butter cookies average at best. If this wasn't bad enough their customer service is some of the worst I've experienced. We were originally quoted $200 less for a custom cake. Chalking it up to inexperience, We ordered a cake testing anyway for $20. We were told we pay when we pick it up. When I called a day late to see about the order I was told "last I heard from my manager that was cancelled" when I stated it was supposed to be picked up yesterday I was told, "oh they give that away to customers." What ever happened to an email or phone call? I get we were a day late, but life happens and businesses are usually more than happy to accommodate. Skip Herb's. . . if you want a real bakery who provides excellent tasting food with exceptional customer service make the trek to Elk Grove for Jarosch

The worst stale donuts we’ve ever had. Couldn’t eat them. On a Sunday morning. Ordered 2 cherry 1 apple cider 1 Bismarck 1 apple fritter and 1 crunch. The crunch was the only edible one.

New owners, terrible products. You can tell they made cakes many days in advance. Yuck.
