This cozy little sushi spot has some of the best inland sushi I've ever experienced. (Sorry, places right on the coast have an edge) I tend to judge a sushi restaurant by it's unagi - if the eel is bland or rubbery, I probably won't bother with more complicated rolls. The unagi at Kubo is so good, I didnt want dessert. I wanted to continue to savor that taste as long as possible. The chef comes up with new special rolls every month and I have yet to have one that hasn't knocked my socks off. There is talent behind that sushi bar and in the kitchen. The floor staff is friendly and just a little quirky, not the formal, reserved servers you get in many places. They make you feel like you're friends who came in for some great food. Overall, I strongly recommend this to everyone who likes sushi. If you don't like sushi, get the croquettes and some tonkatsu. You'll still have a great meal.
Look no further for sushi and ramen, this is your stop. I ordered the Massacre roll and the Sumo roll (sorry I’m not a raw sushi gal) but these tempura rolls had either smoked salmon or unagi and it was amazing!!! Might I also say the drinks and service is exceptional. The staff is so insanely kind and sweet. The edamame appetizer is the best by the way. I enjoyed absolutely everything I ate. So happy we came here tonight!

This was a great place for a celebratory dinner, and I would recommend it for any occasion. I was able to make a reservation for a friend’s birthday and we were welcomed and seated immediately with friendliness. The atmosphere and ambience of the place really enhanced the experience. The staff were extremely nice and personable. As well, for someone not too familiar with and cultured in Japanese cuisine they were patient in answering my questions to ensure I was able to get the most out of the experience. The food was great for everyone and I will say they were the freshest sushi rolls I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice lunch or dinner to enjoy something a little different than traditional American cuisine. Thank you Kubo!

Got the lunch special. Atmosphere was good. Value for the money was good. Miso soup tasted good, salad was something I’ve never tried before but was good. California rolls were good. Nigiri was fresh, though I wish the chef did NOT PUT WASABI UNDER ALL MY FISH! The first of 5 I ate I brushed it off as cross-contamination, the second one I was like… well I’m already almost done with the nigiri, and I couldn’t even see the spot of wasabi on the rice! By that point I didn’t want to waste the sushi and tried hard to balance the wasabi flavor with the ginger, but also by that point my whole dinning experience had already been ruined. THEY NEED TO WARN PEOPLE BEFORE JUST STICKING WASABI IN THEIR FOOD! I personally hate wasabi. I told the server and all she said was that next time I should mention that I do not want wasabi on my nigiri, she didn’t even bother to offer me some nigiri without wasabi… IT SHOULD BE COMMON SENSE NOT TO PUT WASABI ON SUSHI 😡

Kubo was great and wonderfully cute! Fresh, fresh sushi. Best I've had locally. Everything was beautifully plated, with delicious sake cocktails. Their Aloha roll was bright and great for a hot day. Wonderful service & Instagram-friendly decor. Highly recommend!
