I love going to Kubo every Monday night for sushi and some drinks. Tonight there was an Inappropriate exchange between Mel, and Anneliese. Mel was way out of line tonight when speaking to one of the employees it made me feel extremely uncomfortable being a somewhat of a regular to this establishment. Mel was yelling at anneliese behind the bar in front of all of the customers for nothing that Anneliese did wrong, also Mel threw away one of my drinks that I have not even drink or even had anything to drink before I showed up. This was extremely inappropriate. I support small business in Elgin and I will continue to support Kubo, but I prefer to go on Monday nights when Mel is not there very often. The food and drinks are always amazing at those restaurant and I would highly recommend people to go when Mel is not around. One other note that I would like to say is Mel always smells like an ashtray when she’s walking around the restaurant it is extremely unprofessional to smell like cigarettes when working in the clean restaurant environment

I had the fried calamari ! It was amazing! Definitely recommend it! It wasn’t salty and seriously so tender!I had the Godzilla roll, the zombie brains and up in smoke!The Godzilla and zombie brains had such a good crunch to it but the up in smoke!!!? Man as soon as I bite into it, it would melt in my mouth and such a good crunch to it!!!Highly recommend this spot!The staff is super friendly and chatty!Music was definitely putting me in such a good mood ! Enjoyed the vibes in the atmosphere!

5/5 wow! That's definitely something new!As I looked through the menu, the Kubo Bowl caught my attention. I'm so happy I asked about it, and as the waitress described the details of the bowl, my mouth started to water. I ordered it and... wow! It tastes just as good as it was described. It looks simple and plain at the top, but that's ok. The hidden gem is the rice! The have their own special mix of rice and it just makes everything tasty all the way until the last bite.Compared to other poke bowls I've had before this is by far a favorite. They are light on the sauce, so you can taste everything from the fresh veggies, marinated salmon and tuna, and everything else.Service was great and quick. I didn't have to wait long for anything. The portion of the Kubo bowl for lunch was perfect too. The side of soup and salad was a nice touch.I heard they have a dinner size for the Kubo Bowl too. I may have to stop by for dinner.

Great place with great Sushi and great service! I happened to be in downtown Elgin today and did a Google search of "Restaurants neat me" and Kubo Sushi was a suggestion. Thanks Google for leading me to a wonderful lunch which I greatly enjoyed! The Sushi chef was an artist and very personable along with the host and server. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Amazing sushi, great staff, good prices for sushi. Slightly understaffed last time, but the staff there was working their tales off. I will be back and highly recommended for sushi rolls. The shashimi/nigiri was okay. I would go with rolls and go to a higher end place for shashimi/nigiri. For the prices, you can’t beat it. Live music next door and a casino down the street to complete the night! Highly recommended.
