Moni catered my babyshower and the food was an absolute HIT with my friends and family!I’ve since moved outta Illinois, am expecting my 2nd child and wish so deeply that I could get my hands on some of those flautas, baked Mac and collard greens. Truly one of the best cooks ever, and most beautiful people that I’ve ever come to know.I miss you sooo much! ?❤️

From the Moment I walked up to her restaurant doors, I knew Ms. Moni was a Woman of Excellence! Beautiful, Peaceful atmosphere and ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL FOOD!! I felt like a proud Family member as she greeted us w/a lovely smile, ready to serve. The Chicken Wings/fries with “Moni Sauce” was FRESH & ON POINT! The Steak Tacos, Chicken Tacos and J*** Tacos ~ OMG WOWZERS DELISH! The J*** Wings were Amazing! All her food was fresh and my Family enjoyed it! Next time I will order sides for sure. Will be back again and again

I tend to be too nervous to try "soul food" restaurants because a lot of them just can't compare to the flavors soul food eaters grew up with. Saturday was my first time in Elgin, and I googled something to eat since I traveled over an hour for a funeral. This place popped up. Boy am I glad it did. Sweet potatoes and banana pudding was better than average. But baby thee best Mac n cheese from a soul food restaurant I've ever had. The fried chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection and dipping it in Moni's sauce just made it pop even more. They gave plenty of food it was well worth what I spent. I was upset toward to end of my meal because I realized I did not live in this area and wouldn't frequently visit. But I've already told fam/friends about and will return if I'm ever within 20-30 mins.Oh also Moni's living room was very warming makes an amazing place for a special occasion.

Excellent soul food - excellent service! My in-laws discovered this spot on a walk through downtown Elgin and came home with food that smelled so good I had to go try it for myself and I was not disappointed!Super friendly folks - with really REALLY good food in hearty helpings! I’d give them 10 stars if I could! Will definitely be back!!!

Just went to Moni’s for the first time. SOO GOOD! The j*** burger as HUGE, the order of j*** catfish nuggets was enough for two people. Also had the caramel banana pudding and caramel cheesecake

Driving around Elgin Wanting something to eat but didn’t know what I wanted. Decided to stop bye Moni‘s because I had a taste for greens. So I sent my grandson and to get me greens but he wanted to get me a meal. So he got me greens yams catfish nuggets which came with cornbread.The food was delicious! I won’t break the surprise because you got a taste it! Those greens were even better than the ones I Cook! And I can cook!I will be going back and I am going to invite my church!
