I am really surprised at all these good reviews. I feel like I was at a different restaurant. Our server was mostly absent we had to ask the bus boy to track her down. The hostess brought the pizza out and got a coke for me and when we were more than 1/2 finished with our pizza she finally came around to ask how it was and I said fair. No acknowledgment didn’t ask why. On to the cold and tasteless pizza, I was shocked as I had read the reviews. Was visiting friends that live right around corner in the Edgewater community , we were hungry after a long day of fun and this dinner was a real disappointment. One and done

The service is usually very nice. I like their pizza, well made. My only complaint, if it is even a complaint is the extra charge for using a credit card. Still extremely reasonable on the prices.

This is my second time dining at this restaurant, and the food was always great. We loved our pizza and the salad, and the other hand waiter was a very well-behaved, friendly, professional, and very helpful. His name was Oz.

Ok I love food and if you follow my reviews/posts you know this. Nick's is truly one of my all time favs. Both the crystal lake and Elgin location. The vibe is great, great barn wood structure and decor. Service is always on the dot. We love the peanuts and are sad that it has evolved to what it is now due to all the allergies. But happy they still hand out bags of them
When it comes to beer get the tall one. Don't know why but it tastes better here. And for pizza, get the Nick's special double Decker. Pizza like none other. So tasty and crunchy.
That said everything else on the menu has always been really good. I just have my favorite... So much so I forget to take pictures..
Check it out. You will not be disappointed.

The pizza was okay. I had to heat it up when I got home because it was cold. The reason, I had ordered for delivery and about 30 minutes later, I received a call stating they had no drivers and delivery wouldn't start until 4 pm, so I had to go pick it up, and this was on a weekend? I ordered delivery because I wasn't feeling well and didn't want to drive and wanted to give this place a try. Had that information, no delivery until a certain time on their ordering page, I would have ordered from elsewhere.
