My husband and I have been coming to Paul's for years and have never found a dish we didn't like! A couple of nights ago he had a Reuben sandwich and I had an open face turkey sandwich with a cup of cream of broccoli soup. Usually you can stand a spoon up in this kind of soup but this was a light creamy soup and absolutely delicious.

We are always in the neighborhood here and we never stopped in to give this restaurant a try. Today was a day and we will be happy that we came in. When you first walk in you notice all the delicious looking desserts we can tell that they are freshly made. My daughter had a taste for pancakes so she ordered the silver dollar pancakes off the kids menu and loved them. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti. It came with a side salad and a cup of soup. I ordered the half of a fried chicken it's a 25 minutes but we had Uno cards with us so we were playing that while we were waiting. The time went by really fast. My fried chicken dinner came with a potato choice so I chose a baked potato with sour cream and I got to choose a vegetable so I chose the green beans (the other option was carrots) Shortly after we placed our order we received our drinks and a bread basket with crackers and butter. My daughter was so happy to see that! The food was very filling and our waitress Jodi was so so sweet. She kept our drinks full and kept asking us if we needed anything. I love how the restaurant is decorated, I felt like we were having dinner with family. I love bird houses and by our booth was a lovely display of bird houses. I cannot believe we have passed by this restaurant so many times and never stopped in. We will be back for sure! I highly recommend dining here, be sure to bring your appetite! There is a free little library to keep or read and return. Love this so much

My sister and I went to Paul's Restaurant tonight for my birthday dinner. The server Jodi was the worst. We both ordered Spanakopita dinners and saganaki appetizer. She never came back with coffee or asked if we wanted dessert. We had to ask another waitress and then the busboy for to go boxes. She also kept forgetting to bring more gyro sauce to put on the Spanakopita. Her customer service was horrible and this isn't the first time she has been our server. After tonight I will ask for another server If I come back to Paul's at all. I also made sure her tip reflected the horrible service we received. She needs to work on her cus service skills as well as her attitude.

My parents brought me here for the first time when I was 5 years old...16 years later, not only am I grateful this place is still up and running, but the food still tastes as delicious as it did the first time I tried it. You can never go wrong ordering anything off the menu. Taking a risk? You won't regret it. Trying something new? It'll be your new favorite. This place feels like home the second you wall in, waiters and waitresses are some of the most kind hearted people you will ever meet!

I've heard great things about the place and food. Today, i finally had the chance to try it today and it just wasn't for me. The review is for service which was great, especially considering the industry being so short-staffed. Yes, it took some time but the server was very pleasant and on top of things. I had a BLT and can't review the food because country fried, chopped steaks and liver are not foods I don't enjoy and I did not want breakfast.

Thank you all so much! My husband picked up some soup and mashed potatoes for me today, as I had my wisdom teeth out. When taking his order, the person taking his order double checked to make sure the soup and mashed potatoes were ready (as we called during breakfast time) he went to pick it up and came home and said why haven’t we been going to this place? We just moved to Elgin 2 years ago and look forward to many visits from now on. What a great restaurant!

went here for brunch based on reviews. Servers had noses sticking out of their masks. Menu was limited. Food arrived quickly, but not prepared as ordered. ordered over medium eggs, received over easy. Asked for well done hash browns, received barely cooked ones. The server didn't bother checking on us. We were almost done before she came back to ask if we were ready for the check. At this point, asking to remake the eggs and hash browns made no sense because we were ready to

The waitress was a little young and inexperienced so yet arienced so the mistakes can be forgiven and the food as usual and the food as usual was pretty good.

Had the spanikopita tonight. It was so greasy. I absorbed some of the grease with my napkin and ate half of it. The orzo in the soup was so overdone. My husband had a julienne salad that he enjoyed. My meal just looked so bad and tasted so bad. The waitress said they have had trouble with the cooks!! The waitress took $2.00 off this 11.95 meal. We've been going to this Paul's on and off for 30 years!! Also we ordered the veal cutlet during the pandemic...(to go) that used to be amazing, it was sooooo salty and the breading was so thick. Too bad...it use to be a great family restaurant!!
