Roll-N-Donuts Cafe & Douangchay's Kitchen

I’ve been a patron of this cafe for a while and the service has been just fine. Today Friday January 10th 10:00am-3:00pm I was working at the library and had multiple unacceptable interactions with the young lady working the stand. Her tone was cold, mean and full of attitude throughout the interactions. She was saying profanities under her breath after I asked for a refill on hot water. She refused to give me a third refill of hot water saying I had to pay a dollar despite having already paid a dollar for the cup and when I protested she refused me service all together. Really unfortunate interaction.

Amazing prices and equally amazing food! The owner is really nice and welcoming. Everything tastes homemade and they have really unique pastries. Also a ton of variety and snacks for kids. It’s so nice having this at the library!

I ran 10 miles and I was heat exhausted. I asked for a cup of water (because I was about to pass out). The barista refused to give me a cup of water.

I was told about this new bakery by a friend so I decided to investigate. I was so pleased with all the goods I bought from donuts to danishes to kolacky to bread. So delicious, packaged beautifully and the staff member that attended to me was very knowledgeable about all the items. She was kind enough to share with me her favorites and because of her seeming integrity, knowledge and friendliness, I bought her recommendation. A great addition to Elgin and bakeries.

I stopped by Douangchay's kitchen for a snack at the library. I am grateful I did because I realized Douangchay isn't in the food industry, she does it to spread LOVE!!! I felt the warmth emitting from her during our conversations. Her food is like the food your mom gave you when sick with the flu. Same energy. I wish I took pictures of the souffle I got but that requires high self control. Then again go visit her and find out for yourself!

Stopped by for Bahn Mi, and quite pleased I did. The flavors are very good, my only sadness was when the sandwich was gone! Located within the library, turn left if you go through the main entrance. Lots of snacks if you're a hungry library patron.

Came for donuts with my daughter and ended up grabbing myself a banh mi for later, everything we got was delicious! So glad we stumbled upon this place when visiting the library.
