I placed an on-line order the other day for pickup. In my order was cashew chicken. I checked my email receipt, and it was correct. Silver Lake Chinese Restaurant in Elgin, IL offers fresh, tasty Chinese takeout at a fair price. The General Tso and orange chicken are delicious, and customers enjoy the egg rolls, which have an enticing essence of peanut. The egg drop soup and crab rangoon are also favorites. The boba shakes serve as a nice palate cleanser. Despite a cranky host, the experience is consistently amazing with attentive service, pleasant atmosphere, and chill music. Customers appreciate the ample seating and welcoming environment, making it a good choice for dine-in. Some recent visitors note that the food remains delicious, even if portions have shrunk, and highlight the restaurant's cleanliness compared to other local spots. The decor is quite good, and the tables are well cleaned. However, the staff's communication can be frustrating at times, with occasional miscommunication about dine-in requests and a lack of courtesy from some employees. The wait staff is quick to take orders, keep drinks full, and remove empty plates in a timely fashion. Overall, the restaurant continues to serve enjoyable Chinese food, with a warm atmosphere and comforting drinks like hot lemon ginger tea, making it a great choice for families and groups.
