Have been going here for 20+ years. Never had any issues and the food is always delicious! Bonus is their Boba drinks and smoothies! Always a must have in our household!

Amazing food, even the day after it tastes amazing. I have never had a bad experience here and am always happy with the portions. The shrimp fried rice is the best I've ever had(please never change it), the honey walnut shrimp is perfect, and the Mongolian beef tastes great every time. I will definitely be returning when I am out that way whenever possible, I know I will not be disappointed.(ps, the wait time was only longer simply because we ordered on christmas eve)

Best eat-in Asian food resturant in Elgin. The food is not as good as it was a year ago. Sauces do not taste the same. But still works for us.

The chop suey order was terrible The beef pieces were so big and so chewy you couldn't even eat it and then I got shrimp fried rice that was so spicy my kids could need it very disappointed I would not recommend this restaurant. The crab rangoon was the only thing we could eat and they only gave us one little dipping container for the $9 order.

I ate kung pao beef and shrimp fried rice and white rice on Thursday evening. I got food poisoning on Friday night as well as my daughter and it was ROUGH. Both ends… do NOT eat here. Long time customer and won’t be coming back!!

Extremely disappointed with my order on Saturday night. I have been ordering here for a couple of years now every now and then. It's never been amazing but I've never been this disgusted with my sesame chicken that I couldn't even eat my dinner. I could barely bite or cut into the chicken. It was rubbery and chewy with little to no actual chicken... just gross breading. The entire order of chicken was clumped and stuck together. No steamed broccoli, just soggy hard broccoli thrown at the bottom. Sadly I'll be finding another Chinese restaurant in the Elgin area because the quality here has gone down drastically.

I ordered shrimp fried rice and one other thing from here and I got sick and started to vomit after I had the food. I don't think the rice was fresh and they gave bad rice. I am still sick and I am not going to order from them again.

Atrocious. As an Asian and lifelong lover of Chinese food, and as a once-frequent (now former) customer of Silver Lake, I experienced an absolute failure of service.
I placed a takeout order, only to discover when I arrived that it had been prepared incorrectly. When I called to explain, the manager Kevin insisted the mistake was mine and hesitated to correct it. After driving back to have it fixed, I was met with a cold reception, handed my dish without apology, and left with no acknowledgment of the inconvenience.
From what I was told, Kevin reports to Jason and Florence (the actual owners, who were on vacation). Still, I can’t imagine this is the standard of service they would condone. For a customer who has supported this restaurant for years, this was a disappointing and dismissive experience. Silver Lake has lost someone who was once a loyal regular.

Tried this place tonight and instantly regretted it. The BBQ pork pineapple fried rice came with a mystery odor and a flavor so strange it should've come with a warning label. Totally inedible. The garlic green beans? More like onions with a side of green beans. I thought I was playing it safe with simple dishes--turns out the real safe choice would've been eating at home. Save your money and your taste buds--skip this place.
It’s such an amazing place to eat food great restaurants would definitely recommend
