I have discovered an absolute gem in Elgin. I have been missing out big time.
If you haven't been to Sugar and Rhyme yet, and you love croissants, please go. Also I've only tried one latte, but I like it. So report back with your findings on that matter.
I went to visit family in Europe back in like 2008. This place makes the best croissant I've had since then....
Shops like this will help re-energize downtown Elgin. Staff were friendly, coffee was flavorful and smooth, and the place has that comfy cafe appeal. Will go back for more ham/gouda croissants and Italian meringues, and will also plan to try the macarons. Top recommendation!!
This is a very nice coffee shop. Super friendly and kind staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Great latte. Delicious butter croissant. The thing that stood out the most was the absolutely delicious chocolate torte. It was probably the best dessert that I've ever had.......absolutely amazing. So glad we stopped!!
