The service stinks. Walked in and no one greeted us nor sat us. We would have gone to the bar but unfortunately they were packed. We waited for about 5 minutes until some man from the kitchen delivered food to a table - he acknowledged us and sat us at a table. No one ever came by our table for 20 minutes so we left. I like their wings and food but each time we come here, the service has not been good.

Came here for Friday night fish fry. Not good. Fishy and greasy. We soak out at least two napkins worth of grease per piece. I ate one small piece and gave up on the rest. It is not like the fish I remember. What happened? Too bad, I was looking forward to a good Lenten fish fry. Services was acceptable. The ambiance? It's a sports bar.

Over charging $3.00 for replacing tequila for mezcal on every margarita. Not good.

Always good! It doesn't have speakeasy vibes though... However, if you want solid pub food- that's better than most, or if you want to watch a game while you eat, check it out!

Came here on a Saturday for lunch with my son before a musical at Elgin High School. The food was awesome. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and had a replacement beverage at the ready as soon as we finished one. The owner came over and chatted with us a little before we left and it was just an overall great experience. Prices were very reasonable and the close proximity to the casino would make this a great dinner and drinks option before heading there to try your luck.Parking: Have no fear. Parking is plentiful.Kid-friendliness: They have an awesome looking bar but plenty of booths and tables that are kid friendly.

Only giving it 2 because I love the food. My parents ordered me food to go while I was at work and I was really looking forward to enjoy the burger they ordered me they said no pickles on the side and just a plain bacon cheeseburger. I just heated up my food looking forward to enjoy my burger after work and they put onions and pickles on the side still. Luckily I had food from before that I could still heat up and eat just feel bad because I’m not eating food with things that my parents requested off and I feel bad because it just wasted their money.

This place was bad. We called in and asked if they had available parking and a man answer the phone and call does stupid Mexicans and then he proceeded to call us a bunch of Maria’s. Which is a stereotypical Mexican name we decided to ignore the big red flag and that was the biggest mistake ever. The food wasn’t even good. The wings were hard and chewy the cheese on the pizza turned into concrete in a second and a burger was so dry and flavorless and we were literally dining in. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not even the service was good the waitresses were slow, and they only paid attention to the bar that was filled with creepy man looking at you so of course, our food came out cold. Honestly don’t waste your time or money in here

Hidden gem right here in Elgin. Reasonably priced entree's too. Clean bathrooms and friendly service.Parking: The parking spaces on the side of the building are a bit tight but there are plenty of them. I think the space behind the building may be larger.

Walnut is a cool space, once you get inside, it's definitely a worthwhile stop. The parking lot, and location, are the reason for my dedicated Star. The parking lot is awful, the worst, most terrible lot ever. They really need to redo. That said...The service has always been fine or better. The food is good! The nachos are amazing, plenty of protein, cheese and veggies. Enough for way more than two people. The cheese curds are absurdly huge! Soooo many! Feeds four, easily, and they are delicious. Southwest egg roles are hit or miss, they are sometimes under cooked, but tasty. I love their sweet potato fries and side salads! Many rave about the wings! And, me of my friends had a veggie wrap, she loved it with sweet potato tater tots and bbq sauce. I don't like to go after dark because of the outside situation, but otherwise, Walnut is a winner!
