Clean and tasty, excellent friendly service and priced fair-ish.
I had the Pad Kee Mao w/tofu. The dish was steaming hot and the portion huge!
I ordered it “high spice” and well, that did not happen but that’s fine. I asked for chili paste. Just that most times food cooked with spices is far better than food with spice added on top. The tofu was excellent and plentiful. I did not taste any basil. Tons of fresh vegetables.
If I lived here I would come frequently. I would only ask them to use less oil because there’s a lot of glistening oil left over on the plate. For most people who pay attention: way too oily

Sticky rice was in a plastic bag. Tasted like it was microwaved because it hardened up quickly. Ordered the special duck dish and only recieved small chopped up pieces of duck vs actually seeing pieces of a whole duck. All meat dishes including the pho had dried up pieces of meat like it was leftover and re-fired vs raw slices of meat. Avoid. You can find better. Sorry not sorry.

A very down-to-earth café where you can simply enjoy your coffee without distractions. The staff seemed professional and polite. A calm, clean, and consistent environment.

The food used to be terrific and I would order frequently. Then for whatever reason they'd be closed randomly. Finally, I went back there in the spring and got carryout. It was the worst meal I've ever had anywhere. The mango sticky rice tasted like literal vomit. Other veggies were spoiled in my partner's meal too.
I called the business that night and they said they would refund the charges but they never did.
We picked up our food so can't say much about the atmosphere. The food was the best, most authentic Thai food I've had in a really long time. Complex flavors were wonderful. Each bite was a treat. Thank you for creating delicous food. If I lived in the area I'd be a regular customer, unfortunately I live in another state but when I come back to visit I'll come again.

Small portions. Meh taste. I thought it was better when it was Charm Thai BBQ. I really hope the owners turn things around because they seem nice.

Best egg drop soup ever, and delicious green curry!
My vote for best Thai restaurant in Chicago. Don’t let the low key exterior fool you. If you’re driving, you’ll be delighted to hear that they have PLENTY of parking. Exceptionally high quality food prepared quickly and served with a smile. I felt like I was being treated like family. I had the pad thai with duck (what a treat!) with mild spice. Pad thai is my go to dish. I’ve had it many, many times in many different places. This was the best pad thai I’ve ever had. This place is a gem and Elmhurst is lucky to have such a great Thai establishment.

Cozy Spot with Flavorful Curry 🍛
Stopped by Charm Thai Chef and tried the Panang Curry with beef, spicy and full of flavor! The portion was okay, not to big, and the presentation was okay. It was too sweet for my personal taste, the rice also too soft, but still a solid dish overall. More expensive than the regular thai rest. If you want to add protein you have to pay extra, it is not included.
Nice little spot if you’re craving Thai comfort food. I’d come back to try more dishes and maybe ask for a little less sweetness next time!
