I walked in one rainy day, and I never have been to this deli store, and I asked the man for a tunafish sandwich. It was the best tunafish sandwich I have ever eaten in my life. The bread was fresh. The tuna fish was fresh, the seasonings, he put Italian seasonings on this tuna fish sandwich, I will specially go to Elmhurst to eat this food. It is so good you need to try this place.
Some of the other reviews here, sheesh. The place has been there for over 20 years, I recently started going here after moving back to Elmhurst, the owner is a pretty cool dude, yeah there is a dog there, it's tiny and super friendly. I think the sandwiches are great! Always fresh ingredients and bread. You can't get a better sandwich for the price! There always seems to be people picking up large orders. I definitely will be returning!

Not clear why I am writing the first review, but if it's any indicator my girlfriend and I were the only patrons on a Sunday afternoon. We both had broccoli and cheese soup and an Italian sub. Both were average at the least, service was swift. It was a little eerie eating in a quiet shop but what do I care? This is conveniently located for me - I'll be back.
