We saw Zap on social media and decided to give it a try. We’ve now ordered delivery several times and every single thing we’ve had was well-packaged and delicious.

This place reminded me of Velvet Taco. We really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the margaritas. I’d go back for the chips and salsa alone. One suggestion would be to organize the menu by protein to make ordering easier and consider trimming down the offerings to better highlight the strongest items.

Our usual taco place was closed, so we decided to give this place a try. It's our new favorite!!! It's not your average, traditional type of taco place, but don't let that deter you. The margaritas were good, and the tacos were phenomenal. My husband and I each picked 3 different tacos so we could share and try a variety of different ones. Each one was delicious and unique. (They have traditional tacos, too). We got a side of elote (amazing!) and a side of beans that were also very good. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is funky and fun. I heard a lot of great songs playing that I haven't heard since highschool- loved the vibe. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Zap Tacos is a place I go past every day when I make my daily walks. I decided to finally check it out. Upon first entering the establishment, I noticed the he walls were painted with sci-fi inspired motifs. The bar had a beach vibe to it with a canopy decorated with hay. The tables all had napkin baskets created out of discarded music CDs. Place has an interesting vibe to say the least. Not at all what I was expecting.

Upon opening the menu, I soon discovered this was not your run of the mill taco place. Tacos had unique ingredients. I ended up ordering the Barnyard Luau, Whippersnapper and Island Boy tacos. While the first two tacos were alright, the Island Boy tacos were fantastic. It was packed with flavor and had a good kick to it. It is a jerk chicken taco with mango and a spicy Caribbean style cream.

I found the prices of the tacos to be a little steep for the size of taco that you get. Prices range from $6-7 each. If they don't reduce the prices, I think they should incorporate tacos specials into their Happy Hour menu selections aside from the drink specials.

Overall, it was a good experience. The Island Boy tacos were enough for me to make a return visit at some point. If you're looking for a taco place with a more refined ingredient selection, place might be worth a visit.

Zap Tacos delivers an unforgettable dining experience. The tacos burst with some of the most unique and creative flavors we’ve ever tried, making each bite a surprise in the best way. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the welcoming vibe. And the decor? Wildly entertaining—playful, vibrant, and full of personality, it perfectly matches the boldness of the food. A must-visit spot in Elmhurst for anyone craving tacos with a twist.

Its a nice place. Unfortunately the table was dirty and sticky. The menu was dirty and sticky. There was a bunch of food on the floor underneath the table. Its way overpriced for the cold food we received. The margaritas were syrupy. All this while we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Maybe we caught them on a bad day... but it was extremely underwhelming

Excellent lunch service. Unique atmosphere, good flavors, distinct and unique from other Mexican restaurants in the area. A great addition to downtown Elmhurst's food repertoire.

Party of 3 and we loved the art on the walls and the fun menu, the concept was just super fun! The staff was super friendly and our waitress had great recomendations! We ordered evil elotes, beans, chorizo Mac and cheese and tacos we had the vigilante, Agua taco, mother clucker and the Red skull. They were all delicious! The skirt steak was so tender, the cod was crispy and not fishy at all and the RED SKULL in my opinion was out of this world, DELICIOUS!!!!!! The margaritas was flavorful but not strong. My only suggestion would be to get the food out hotter it was room temp. The chips and salsa was delicious too. I will be dreaming about those Red Skull tacos! Zap is a great addition to Elmhurst for crazy fun tacos, there is something for everyone! Its street parking but thats Elmhurst, if you know you know.

The tacos we tried were fantastic and id like to come back snd try some more. Its a convenient location and the prices are fair. The serving sizes are good. They have really good chips snd guacamole and the elotes was very tasty. We took the tacos home for take out snd traveling didn't appear to hurt the quality at all.

Very cool little spot. Love the art on the walls. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The tacos are slightly bigger than a typical taco, but stuffed full of meat. You get your money's worth. I loved the sauce on the steak taco. The Sloppy mess Taco had a ton of flavor and I highly recommend it to anyone for a first dish. I really hope this place does well because a quick Taco spot is what downtown Elmhurst needs. This is more of a Tex-Mex/American Hybrid Taco joint. Sometimes those are the best, and in this case, it's a very good thing.
