We have been going to Russell's 50 plus years. Everything has always been amazing from the ribs falling off the bone to the original pulled pork sandwich that was so good. The last 3 time it has not been enjoyable. Tried it again last night the ribs were dry over cook not falling off the bone. Very disappointing. Four of us had them and all four was said they were terrible. Salad had to be returned. Baked potato was old. So disappointed, we drive 50 mile for this. Please...

My experience at Russell’s was sub par. Chicago is a rib tip city, so I would recommend getting yours right Russell. Here’s the review…

The Food: I ordered a rib tip dinner. The dinner came with fries, coleslaw, and a roll. 1/3 of the tips had great flavor, a bit of char, and tender. The other 2/3 were almost inedible. So dry, stringy, and rubbery. It kinda made no sense. The fries were good while they were warm, roll was tasty, and the star of the show...

Russell’s BBQ will always have a special place in my heart ❤️🔥! My family has been coming here for generations, and I still sit in the same cozy booths my grandparents once did 🥰🍽️. The nostalgia hits just as hard as the amazing food — the ribs are tender and flavorful, and that signature sauce is unbeatable 🤤🍖. The coleslaw is super fresh with a perfect vinegar kick 🥗✨, and even the veggie burger is delicious — a nice surprise for non-meat eaters...
