I’m actually surprised to see people complain about the price, I think they’re quite fair overall. They’re a local bakery serving treats daily since the 30’s. To me their pastries measure up! I haven’t had anything I didn’t like here: the custard morning buns are delicious, I’d highly recommend the caprese sandwich and my friends LOVED the petit fours and macaroons I brought for my birthday! And now it’s paczkis season! Can’t wait to head back in for more treats. ☺️

Very disappointed that we went into the store on Dec 20 to order 3 dozen slider buns for pickup on Dec 23 and were told there was no need to preorder and simply come in and pick them up saying “we always have plenty”. Well they didn’t and now we are running around trying to salvage our holiday party. Don’t believe what they tell you and we will find another bakery.

Gave it a lower score only because of the prices. I really want to support local businesses, happened to be in Evanston for an appointment so I stopped in. (Been here before). The prices are very, very high. (Guess I should expect that when there are no prices shown on the baked goods in the cases). The espresso was not very good (to my palate). The bakery is delicious, but at these prices I may choose somewhere else in the future and be very careful with my selections.

everyone here is so rude like mostly (if not all) teenagers with no customer service experience won’t greet you, won’t say hello, will just stare at you until you tell them anything. It’s really eerie. The line thing is also kinda weird because it wraps around a funny way. Small cramped store just don’t go

I have been going to Bennison's for 30 years, and make a special stop anytime I am in Evanston. The yellow happy face cookies are the best anywhere, as are the cumb cake and slab pies. You will be a hero if you bring home some treats!

Wow! It's hard to find such beautiful bakeries in the USA. This place blew me away the minute I entered. I chose biscotti.
Awesome bakery. However the prices don’t always correspond with the serving size. I purchased a cheesecake square smaller than the palm of my hand and it was $5.45. Literally took 2 bites. Portion sizes are too small for the price

Disappointed in the service today. There was one person taking orders and three others just talking near the register. When I placed my order the kids behind the counter just started giggling and laughing at the person that was taking the orders. Instead of apologizing they just ran away and laughed. As for the pastries I ordered, the elephant ears dipped in chocolate was amazing. However the cheesecake brownie and eclairs tasted old. Not sure what happened to this place, I used to come here a lot. 🤷

I cannot remember how many times we visited this place. But I cannot remember tell you that each Birthday cake we had we got from Bennison’s!!
This place is always packed, an attestant to it high quality
The sandwiches are just delicious The cookies are scrumptious The cakes are always fresh and with no faked material The donuts are the real deal And the breads are fresh and tasty
What I like the most about this place is the fact that any holiday, no matter what religion they will make the customary cake or pastry!
We, Evenstonians are truly blessed to have this amazing institution in our town!
