I went here for dinner with my wife and mother and it was great. The atmosphere was very intimate and the food was top notch.
I had the tenderloin steak with roasted potatoes and spinach, and it was incredible. The steak melted in my mouth, the potatoes were roasted to perfection, and I'm not usually one for spinach but I cleaned my plate. My wife and mother also had zero complaints about the salmon and chicken.
They also mixed up a very nice drink for me! I don't know what exactly went into it, but I just asked for something that didn't taste very alcohol-y but would still make me tipsy and they most certainly delivered!
The location is also great, right next to the Purple Line and UP-N.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants - and totally worth a drive into Evanston! We returned for dinner again this past week and really falling in love with this charming restaurant. Service has been fantastic, menu is creative while still offering classics. This time we went for a special occasion and brought one of our daughters - she loved it as much as we do.
We have had the beef carpaccio, Diver Scallops and the Grilled octopus as appetizers - all delicious! The Beef carpaccio is a personal favorite and theirs is excellent.
This time we ordered their skirt steak - and they were accomodating & kind enough to let us request a change so we had it with mashed potatoes instead of the roasted potatoes. We’ve tried the duck and lamb chops. I’m not sure you can go wrong with any option on the menu! Everything has been delicious and fresh.
It would be a great place for a dinner date or group of friends or family dinner. It has a really cozy but upscale feel to it - not huge, so worth making reservations. We’ve not had any trouble finding street metered parking close by.
This needs to be on your “must go” list!

I made a reservation for my wife and my anniversary. When I made the reservation, I told the host it was our anniversary. When we arrived, our table was ready and they walked us to the table. As we went to our table, we passed several tables along the wall that were empty. They took us to a table in the middle of a cluster of tables, and it was extremely tight and not at all intimate. The tables along the wall remained empty during our dinner. The tables along the wall were much more intimate, not in the middle of a group of tables and quieter. In the cluster of tables we were in it was extremely noisy and it was difficult to understand the waitress and even talk to my wife.
The food was outstanding though. I had the duck and my wife had the scallop appetizer for An entrée.

All 3 elements of the dining experience were 5 Star. Pastas and Caesar Salad were fresh and flavorful. Bruschetta appetizer was incredible. Very attentive servers and staff made sure we had everything we needed. A very nice atmosphere with cozy places and warm friendly service. Try it, you'll like it!

Excellent gem of Evanston. Great Italian options. We had beet salad, grilled octopus, and bruschetta to start. Then the duck, Sea Bass special, and the Pappadeli pasta. Good wine selection. Fyi, you can't bring your own. And the table staff was excellent as we family styled everything and they were great at bringing us extra plates and utensils. A sign of a great restaurant.

My wife and I have been visiting Campagnola for at least 15 years to celebrate our anniversary together. In those 15 years, the consistency and quality of their entire experience has never wavered. The food is always incredible and the service top notch. Their pappardelle bolognese has time and time again remained my favorite dish (and I'm not usually a pasta eater). Looking forward to many more years of delicious experiences. Well done!

The service here was good and the cost was reasonable. Unfortunately, I found the menu to be very limited. My party had a little trouble choosing a dish because the options were few. No one was "blown away" by the quality of the dishes once delivered. They were just "okay". Wine list was also not that great. I would not give this restaurant the highest ratings for these reasons.
Best restaurant in Evanston. Very well priced, great food, immaculate vibes, outstanding service. Great all around restaurant. Been around since the mid-90s and it’s so cool to watch the staff interact with the regulars with whom they’ve built relationships with over the years!

My husband & I plus 2 other couples went to this restaurant for dinner last night. It was so good! Three had pasta dishes they loved, 2 had their halibut special (delicious!) & one had their ribeye special (so good). We all had their bread pudding for dessert and agreed it is the BEST bread pudding we’ve ever had. Definitely a restaurant we all recommend. Hope to be back!!
