"I’m extremely disappointed with this ice cream store. Their hours clearly state they’re open, but when I arrived, the store was closed. No signs, no updates online, nothing to indicate why. It’s incredibly frustrating to waste time and energy coming here only to find the doors locked. If you can’t stick to your posted hours, at least update your website or leave a note for customers. Very unprofessional

Poorly maintained ice cream. Some of the sorbet trays were partly melting and the ice cream that we got was icy. Staff was friendly but the food itself did not taste like coldstone normally does.

Extremely rude staff. They speak to you as if you are a child when they are most likely in high school. They lack good customer service completely. Charged $4 extra for an item that would never be up charged at any other Cold Stone I’ve been to, replaced two items in a signature and the lady neglected to say there would be an up charge but for some reason told me how the almonds are “roasted” beforehand and just let me continue on to the counter. When asked for an explanation, she was extremely disrespectful and rude. I won’t be taking my money to this place anymore. Get new staff who actually know how to talk to people and don’t clap their hands at customers.

I love Cold Stone but this store really disappointed me. We went to get the Halloween special Boo Batter and we were told that Boo Batter only comes with one free mix-in. However we got three mix-ins (Oreo, KitKat, and M&M) as advertised by their poster and website in another store. And whenever I placed an online order, they never gave you the full quantity that you would get when purchasing in person.

The girl at the counter seemed more interested in helping whoever was next to cut down the line that she completely messed up my order. I asked for chocolates chip cookie doling and received some nasty vanilla whatever with peanut butter chips or pieces in it! I asked before even paying if it was chocolate chip cookie dough and she said “ I think so” that’s baffling considering you work here and you gave it to me. Walked out “trusting” she knew what she was talking about. I walked two blocks down started eating it and threw it out immediately after tasting peanut butter which I hate! Will never return and I suggest if you don’t want to waste your money or time find another place to get your ice cream.

Listen. This is ridiculous. This store should be closed down. We came into this location on our vacation in downtown Evanston and I couldn't even make a real purchase. Had I not been shocked into in action I would have turned around and left without purchasing ANYTHING. But I was stunned and the young lady was looking expectantly for my order. I hurried up and ordered a child's scoop of sorbet. Here's the problem. We walked into a warm store with flies and gnats that caught us off guard. The counter by the register was filthy with dropped ice cream, crumbs and dust. There were FIVE employees lined up behind the counter scrolling on phones, scratching their heads and faces and chatting it up instead of watching for customers and greeting us up on entering. BEHIND the glass my husband pointed out a trail of dirt, crumbs, debris of who knows what kind lining the back of the display cases and NOTHING looked clean or frozen quite like things should have looked. If you are the owner of this location, what in the world is going on? Do you come in and view your store? Where are the ADULT managers to ensure staff standards? Can you train your staff to clean, greet, serve, and clean again? All of this would be helpful.

First served us a bowl of melted ice cream, we then asked why it looked all melted already. Worker replied that it’s because their coolers weren’t working properly, which I feel like is important to tell customers at an ice cream store. She then took out a new half scoop melted ice cream and gave us slightly more melted ice cream as “compensation”. Just please tell customers if they’re going be getting melted stuff at an ice cream store

I’m huge on Cold Stone, no matter where I travel I’m looking for the nearest one; distance isn’t a problem. I live on the north side of Chicago and this is the closest one to me, so I frequent this location and I love it. Lemon Sorbet, Strawberry, Coffee and now the fall flavor Caramel Apple are my favs.
