Cupitol Coffee & Eatery (Evanston)

We came here after playing some pickleball, and everything was fine. The soup was serviceable and the salad was a salad. I do appreciate that there was ample seating when we came on a rainy day, but the food and drinks seemed middling. Not too expensive which was appreciated, but I do think there are some places that I prefer nearby.

Great place to meet casually. Popular local spot. Good food. Great coffee and cappuccino. Seating is tight. Not a great place for intimate conversations.

Convient meeting spot with good drink and food options!

Making it one star so it stands out, not actually a one star experience. The breakfast sandwich is delicious and well priced, the coffee here is good as well. However, every time I’ve been here in the past 5 years, the male employees *specifically* have been so rude at the front of house (cashier, never bussers). They truly don’t care if you live or die. Should be addressed by owners/management.

This restaurant is amazing, I like how they employ, alot of African Americans. They also pay them a fair wage, also Evanston is the first place in the U.S. to allow reparations. For historical unjustice, done to blacks in America. Thanks For Mayor Lorie Light Foot. The New Black Mayor in Chicago, who resides in Austin IL, Thank you for The First Black African American, Sworn into office, of the Supreme Court in 2022. Thank You for the first Jamaican Asian Vice President. Thank you for fixing Gary Indiana. The New Black Coptic Pope, from the South Side of Chicago, this year. I might buy a house in Gary Indiana Now, this is amazing. When we all work together.

The place smelled really bad, like there was garbage somewhere. I ordered a caramel latte, and it tasted like there was no sugar in it. I realized it was because they hadn't stirred anything, so all the sugar hit towards the end and made the drink too sweet to consume. Disappointing. The breakfast sandwich was nothing exemplary, if anything, it was a little tasteless. The croissant itself was good. Would not recommend coming out of your way to go to this place, especially if the smell problem is not taken care of.

Excellent cappuccinos and flat whites. Nice froth and proper mix of coffee, milk and froth. Too many places don’t get it right but this place does. I haven’t tried the other coffees. Fun, stylish atmosphere. I haven’t eaten here yet.

This is our favorite spot in Evanston! It is so well run and all of the food I’ve had is delicious. Love the breakfast sandwich, omelettes, scones, and pancakes. It’s order at counter and sit, so it rarely has a wait even on weekends compared to a lot of other spots. On the weekdays you can also work here with just a coffee though there aren’t generally as many laptops as a pure coffee shop.

We love Cupitol, and this Evanston one especially. It’s one our fave spots and the food is consistently delicious. I’ve never strayed from the Falafel burger and never regretted it… so please don’t ever remove it from the menu!! :)
