My wife and I stopped into this place on a whim today while in Evanston. We weren't sure what to get, but our server was so helpful in asking what kinds of things we liked and recommending some options he thought we might enjoy. My wife ended up getting the avocado toast (she loved it), and on Trevor's recommendation I tried the Shakshuka. Wow, what flavors! Thanks Trevor for nudging me outside my comfort zone to find my new favorite!! We will definitely be back!

Trevor was so kind and patient with our group of 10. He speaks in such a calm voice he makes you feel so comfortable. He checked on us and was responsive. He was great!
Dietary restrictions: Understanding that we don’t eat pork and any changing out items.
Teagan has exceptional customer service and always answers any questions about the menu. She always has a smile on her face. You can really tell she cares about the customers
Such a great meal! Our server Trevor was amazing!!
Trevor is great! Food was amazing
Cold crepes & eggs. Ok coffee- on the bitter side. No validating parking. Rude staff.

Super disappointing experience this morning -- it seemed as though they were understaffed. Waited upwards of 5 mins before my table saw our waiter for the first time. He seemed like a lovely human but not the best waiter. My table of two then waited 30 minutes for our meal of oatmeal and avocado toast with poached eggs, and when the food arrived, the oatmeal was barely warm. I want to like a breakfast place in Evanston besides The Lucky Platter, but it's just not happening. Will not be back.

Today I decided to take a walk around downtown Evanston. It was a bit early for the shops to be open so I stopped into Egg Harbor on a whim. The atmosphere is classic Americana. There's a nice bustling cacaphony of patrons enjoying their Saturday morning. A delicious aroma fills the air. I got seated immediately by the window and had someone taking my order within a few minutes. Coffee came after another minute and the food wasn't too far behind. Smells great and tastes as good! If you need a decent breakfast in downtown stop in. It's worth it.

The food and the atmosphere were good, but I felt it was very disrespectful how they were constantly rushing us out of the place, I couldn't eat at peace. We went on a Sunday morning and the place was at half capacity, no waiting line outside; we only spent about 40 mins at the place. I don't understand why they were constantly coming to "offer" us whatever means to expedite our leave, I couldn't eat at a reasonable pace and didn't finish my breakfast because I felt so uncomfortable about the whole experience. I was still deciding if I wanted to try other items on their menu when the waiter just came in with the check, asking if we wanted disposable cups for the coffee... I felt so frustrated she just decided my breakfast experience right then and there, I don't think I would ever return.

Fake, condescending waitress. Kept hassling me about a tip. Table was a sticky mess.

The food was excellent. There was plenty, so I was able to bring some home as I had definitely filled up on it and had enough to bring home. Yum. Our server was great. Didn't catch her name, but she was very accommodating and helpful. Very pleasant. My sister in law had brought me their for breakfast as it was my birthday and we had been wanting to try Egg Harbour Cafe. Definitely did not disappoint. We both enjoyed it immensely

It is pains me to do this as I used to order breakfast to go from here weekly but recently the quality of food has not been the same and this morning the fruit I received was moldy. Such a shame because now it makes me question how fresh the rest of the ingredients they use are putting me off from eating here again. I really hope this was just a one time incident but proceed with caution if you are planning to order food from here.

Love this breakfast place! My wife has Celiac but they always take great care of her and have a good gluten free menu. Their main menu is also amazing and stuffed with your usual classics (eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausage, potatoes, omelettes, etc.) they also have versions with their own special twist if you want to go on a little adventure!
Dietary restrictions: There is a full (slightly smaller) separate menu of Gluten Free options and they mark the orders gluten free/Celiac so the kitchen prepares them with care and does their best to minimize cross contamination. I'm not sure what all they do back there but it seems to work for my wife's Celiac!

Server botched our order and then was rude and dismissive when told so. A professional and or more seasoned server would simply have taken the wrongly served dish back to the kitchen and brought out what we ordered. Perhaps to much to expect these days....
