Our experience here today was a 5 star because of Dan! Giordano's needs more staff like Dan.There are many things that can make or break your experience when you go out to eat. And the most important is how you are treated, the friendly ness of the staff.Dan is very welcoming, informative, patient, pleasant and knows food. He helped with deciding our order.We were in for a pizza and so he suggested we should go with Meat lovers deep dish.Food was not disappointing.We will go again for a once more of the same experience!Kid-friendliness: Kids love Pizza and the restaurant is very spacious

Paid nearly $7 for a BOWL of minestrone and barely got 1 CUP. If you can’t deliver a bowl of soup, don’t offer it! Ridiculous.

Incredibly inept. After accepting a reservation on the 4th of july, upon arrival they announced they are out of dough and cannot make anything but salads and sandwiches - - no pizza. That's much like Ace Hardware being out of nuts and bolts. Utterly ridiculous. Never again.

We decided to try Giordano’s while visiting Northwestern University. Dan was our server and her was absolutely amazing! He was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

Pretty terrible place. Giordano’s is part of a chain so our group expected the usual good pizza and service, but we were wrong on both counts. Not sure how a *pizza* restaurant this poor can stay open in *Chicago*.The restaurant was almost empty, perhaps just four tables taken. We had to wait five minutes for the guy on the front desk to finish his telephone call before being allowed to be seated. When we were finally ushered by him to the tables, we asked if we could sit here (pointing to an empty table) and were told “no, those are for six people”. So we were led to a small and cramped four person table close to the door. And right next to another equally cramped and occupied table. This was winter time in Chicago so everyone had thick and bulky coats which made the seating area very inhospitable in such a cramped table. Oh, and just to add insult to us, the same front desk guy showed the next group of two to a table with four seats, even though there were two person tables available. Double standards.The waitress was very nice and took our order carefully, and even read it back to us to make sure it was correct. I ordered a medium thin crust Margherita pizza with an extra mushrooms. It took 30 minutes to get the pizza but when it arrived it had no mushrooms. I said that I thought I had been given the wrong pizza and I was initially told that perhaps the mushrooms were underneath the cheese, but they weren’t. One of our group who ordered no mushrooms got my mushrooms added to his pizza. The waitress said they could re-make the pizzas, but it would be another half-hour wait. So we were forced to eat the incorrect pizzas. The crust was overly dry and tasteless, just like a regular pizza crust that had been rolled out thinner and over baked.When the bill arrived, I was charged for the mushrooms I never had!Despite not being allowed to sit at a reasonable table, those tables remained empty for the entire evening we were there.Poor quality pizza crust, unwelcoming front desk service, incorrectly made pizzas, charged for items not received, slow service. Never going back. The photo shows how empty the place was during our visit.
