One word: Eggrolls! Unlike any others in most Chinese restaurants-- the spices and the peanut butter are the secret. For those who remember Pekin House on Devon, very similar eggrolls. I am so happy to have found this take out restaurant and I look forward to trying other dishes on their menu.... but I will most certainly always order some eggrolls to go. Delicious!

I always order the vegetable egg rolls and vegetable fried rice — no egg, no baby corn, extra onion — and it’s always so delicious. The food is hot, fresh, and full of flavor every time. The people here are friendly, and the energy of the workers is consistently positive. It really makes the whole experience even better. 🌱🥡

Hunan Star is hands-down my go-to for takeout in Evanston. The phone is always ringing off the hook and yet they always get the orders out fast, hot, and exactly right. The Wonton Soup and Orange Chicken are the best I’ve had in town. Super flavorful, great portions.
Kind Asian gentleman helped me out a ton. “I got you” he said, he was wearing a black hat & black glasses. I’ll be praying for him & I really hope Hunan Star treats him well + bro deserves a raise 🫰 太感谢了 Tài gǎnxièle

The food is amazing and the people who work there will go above and beyond to make sure you have what you want. We forgot a small part of a pick up order and they sent a driver to bring it to us. They didn't have to do that - but they rock and their food is amazing.
