I absolutely love this place. I’ve had 2 other Cantonese restaurants I can say I’ve enjoyed and honestly Hunan Star is by far my favorite now. Pan fried noodles, veggie fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef. All amazing. Do yourself a favor and grab this when you are in Evanston.

The lunch specials are THE BEST!
Call in your order the pick it up or have it delivered. They have a counter that would make it the smallest dining area in the North Shore but I might try it out on a rainy day. The menu is not gigantic the serve popular American style Chinese food with talent & precision.
When you open up your boxes you are pleased with what your senses are sending to your brain. What you see smell & taste equal delicious.

I ordered their sesame chicken not over a half hour ago and am currently holding myself back from finishing the entire dish. This is without a doubt one of if not the best sesame chickens I have ever had. The portion size was amazing and will provide me with 3 meals total for what I paid. I know I will be back for more of this dish and other dishes they serve. I recommend this to anyone looking for high quality food!
