This place used to be delicious 5+ years ago, but my dinner last night was so bad. Their sesame chicken used to be my favorite., but instead of having crispy breading on the outside, moist chicken on the inside, it was spongy all the way through. The pad thai was completely flavorless. I had to add my own chili flakes, pepper, salt, peanut sauce, and soy sauce just to make it palatable. I will never be ordering from here again. Just another place the pandemic ruined I guess.

Friendly service and omg this place got a variety Asian food stop and some of the stuff I don't even get back home in Maryland. Like who served beef soup with beef bone marrow in it was so full of flavor and the portion is so huge. Pho was excellent.

The waitress didn't understand much and brought me the wrong soup but it was still good! Food is always yummy

Everybody kept on telling me to come here, so I finally did.The drink I got was DELISH. I got the taro slush with herb/grass jelly & lowest %sugar. (Opted for no boba). It was just the right amount of sweetness for me ?? (there was some syrup from the grass jelly. I don’t like super sweet). Will def go back for more drinks, and will try the food as well. We were already full from lunch to eat this time around.Service was super quick. Drink size was Huge!

You need to be more careful. There was a food sticker on my vegetables in my lunch order. Clearly they didn't wash the vegetables and just left the labels in for seasoning.

I used to love this place years ago! Quality has definitely gone down. It can be a hit or miss with the food. Service is fast but rarely hospitable. And the oolong milk tea I just received tastes like water, I can barely taste any tea. Such a bummer.

Don't order takeout from here. They forget your drink, and the food arrives cold and flavorless. Never again.

I went to The restaurant before the fact to order and pay in cash before the fact-- to get curbside 2 hours later. I ordered the Malaysian string beans with shrimp and the spring rolls. I called 10 minutes ahead and got my curbside. The spring rolls rice lining was stale-- --EXCUSE ME?! The string beans were fresh-- al dente-- and the shrimp were small but not overcooked. Overall it was bland and a surprise disappointment since this was my first time. Maybe I should have ordered something else. They did not have the French short ribs even though they were on Yelp's menu. Maybe I will order something else next time.

Yuck. The dishes were tasteless and goopy. It has 2 stars only because they put a fair amount of ingredients in each dish. It wasn't generous nor was it skimpy. It baffles me that people like their food enough for them to operate from 3 different locations. I ordered beef chow fun, spicy basil shrimp chow fun and chicken broccoli. It was edible at best and definitely not enjoyable. If you like greasy, tasteless American Chinese food....this is your place.

This place is overhyped. Setting is nice, but the food is bland and the shrimp is very fishy. If you’re looking for some good Thai food, try pinto Thai- the lunch specials there are outstanding.

Standard Chinese restaurant in beautiful downtown Evanston. Good food, fast service. Not so fresh but hot and pretty decent dishes in a good location with nice views. Better smoothies. On a weekday afternoon the place is pretty empty but you can imagine it packed on the weekends.Update 10 February 2024. Joy Yee Evanston is the place to be on a Saturday night? Happy Chinese New Year to everyone ?Food's still good, service still fast. There are a lot of folks here tonight, but that's all right. The place does great on smoothies and boba teas, and those are delicious! ??Parking: Street parking no problem. Find a slot, park and pay. It's not Chicago rates so it's ok.Kid-friendliness: Bring your kids? bring your neighbour's kids. Seating is cafeteria style, staff will put tables together. Families are perfect.

Loved the food and the waitress was so nice, their veggie dumplings and noodles were to die for. Will def come back here. Also they have a huge variety of drinks, slushees, and fresh juice, I got their pineapple slushy and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had anywhere.
