Kilwins has a great collection of ice creams, cookies and chocolates.
The variety is huge and they also have a lot of packed chocolates and ice creams.
Northwestern University students get an additional 10%.

Store closed. Not sure if permanently or if they do not care about updating google and yelp
The man working was very rude, and seemed annoyed when we asked for a sample. It was not a welcoming environment, especially because of the treatment from the worker. I would not reccomend if you are not a minority. Also, the icecream isn’t good for the price.

Best place for ice cream and we have been going there since 2013. So far, we have had it in Madison Wisconsin, Evanston & Chicago Illinois, Panama City FL, Virginia Beach VA and it's always tasted delicious.

We went in wanting to get some ice cream. It was good but nothing special for what we paid.
Perhaps their other treats are better.

My husband and I had a blast in this store!! There are so many unique flavors of ice cream and chocolate treats.
The lemon sorbet tastes like lemonade & the butter pecan ice cream is so rich and creamy, and the nut kind of breaks that down in your mouth. It’s absolutely divine.
The chocolate/caramel covered pecans are okay. Wouldn’t buy them again but they’re not nasty.

Ice cream is tasty but very, very expensive. Most expensive ice cream ever. We saw a person ahead of us walk out and not get their order when they saw the register total.

It's pricy, but the ice cream is decent. Great staff.

The ice cream is hit and miss. One flavor was good, not exceptional, but average. Another was chocolate peanut butter but tasted and felt like just straight up frozen peanut butter. Not good. The cones are made very cheaply and fall apart within minutes. Also much more expensive than competitors in the area. Overall I would highly recommend against this place.

Great ice cream at this local joint. Right in the Evanston downtown. Love all the flavors. I had peach ice cream which was great.

If you're looking for a sweet treat that nourishes your soul, Kilwins is the place to go! The scent that wafts down the street alone is enough to draw you in, and when you step through the door your cares can't help but melt away. It feels like an old fashioned cozy candy shop with a bright, modern twist that puts a smile on your face.
Everyone who works there, especially Bridget, Eric and Violet, went above and beyond to make my mom's birthday extra special.
Violet let me try the fudge (which is dangerously delicious!), Bridget made my mom the shake of her dreams, and Eric was so kind and patient with my inability to make a decision. (I landed on a peanut butter cup and cookies and cream bark- both are sublime!)
Everyone made us feel so welcome and valued, and really made our day perfect. Not to mention the stellar quality of the food itself- everything tastes rich and homemade with care and mastery. The seats and tables outside were a wonderful place to enjoy our treats.
Thank you for being an uplifting source of joy and serenity in a sometimes scary and stressful world. It means more than you know.

I love the Arlington Heights location, so I was excited to come across an Evanston location. Very much not the same business. First thing that happened is that there are 4 customers trying to get something, and maybe 5 staff huddled in the back talking to each other and not noticing there are customers there, let alone helping anyone. When I could finally flag one of them, I ordered my favorite Kilwins item, almond toffee crunch. Unlike the one I buy in Arlington Heights, this one was uneven in thickness, and the layers separated, so I had separate toffee and chocolate. Close to $15 of disappointment in a paper bag. If this had been my first Kilwins visit and purchase, I would not be a repeat customer. I do plan to go back to Arlington Heights.
Parking: Street parking is $2 per hour.
