To start, the hostess could not find our Open Table reservation which had been made a few weeks in advance. It did not matter because the restaurant was not full, but had it been full, it would have been a problem. Then when she finally found it, after we were seated, she said we had given her the wrong time which was incorrect and why would you say that to paying customers who were already unsettled because of her error? On a more positive note, The bar area and the whole restaurant is charming and the noise level is perfect, plus the views are very nice. They seemed to be short on servers, like many restaurants these days but when we got served, our server was very pleasant. The food, overall was good, not great. My partner had the burger and that seemed to be the best entree by far. Both the chicken tahini and chicken cassoulet were fine, but nothing extraordinary. I would go back because it is such a pleasant place, just wish the food was as good as it was at Found.

We often drive past great food options in Glencoe, Winnetka, and Wilmette to come to La Tour, French bistro food never gets old, and LT does everything right. BTW, if you want real pommes frites, this is your place. Chicken Tagine is outstanding too. And we like the way the big space breaks down into smaller areas. We'll keep coming back

We love this restaurant. We would have preferred a slower pace of service this time as the main course arrived barely after we had finished our oysters and before we had finished our cocktails.

Excellent meal celebrating husbands 60th. The chicken tagine was very good, as was the filet mignon. The mussels and lamb meatballs for starters were excellent

Le Tour features French and Moroccan food. The chicken tagine is delicious and was enough for an “encore meal” the next day. My friend had the butternut squash bucatini with Italian sausage and crisp fried sage leaves and that almost gave me entree envy. The wine recommendation was spot on, according to my friend. I had the Tunisian rose cocktail. This place also serves the best profiteroles I have ever had, bar none. The service is excellent and the entire staff is friendly. I plan to go back.

The tagine is definitely a large enough portion for two women. It was delicious but felt that maybe the server wasn't honest about portion size to increase total of bill. Other portions were appropriate.

This is a restaurant right in the center of downtown Evanston, at the street level of the Bank One building, at the intersection of Davis & Orrington streets. The food was delicious. We had the duck pate and the lamb meatballs as appetizers - both delicious. (They serve it with a warm, very crusty bread for the pate. We would have preferred toast points or anything easier than the bread they offer since it is difficult to pull apart into edible-size pieces.) The entrées were a chicken Vesuvio, and a spaghetti pasta with bay scallops. Again, they were excellent. The chicken breast was moist and tender and the scallops were fresh and sweet with a delicious cream sauce. The service was incredibly nice and attentive. They have plenty of covered and heated, outdoor seating that made it a pleasure to sit outside despite the upper 50s weather.

The only really great restaurant in Evanston. Menu is varied and interesting - you can negotiate the tasting menu if you want to share and add another entree - you can then take home the dessert if it will travel. Non alcoholic mocktail was a surprise. Service was excellent even though one of our group made her jump through the hoops. One of our favorite spots and the place is beautiful!

✨ A Memorable Evening with Beautiful Ambiance and Warm Service ✨

We recently celebrated my sister’s wedding reception at this restaurant, and while the food didn’t quite steal the show, the overall experience was still lovely and worth sharing.

Our group of 14 was seated in a private room—intimate and cozy, though not quite as polished as the rest of the beautifully decorated space. It felt like the room was still mid-design, with some unfinished touches, but it did allow for a more personal gathering. That said, you could still hear the buzz from the main dining area, which is pretty standard in a lively spot.

We started with a round of appetizers: charcuterie, toasted baguettes with assorted toppings, and a comforting butternut squash soup. Paired with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic bubbly (the cava was especially delightful), it set a festive tone. The salads were fresh and enjoyable, but the main courses lacked seasoning and didn’t quite hit the mark.

Then came dessert—and redemption! The carrot wedding cake with dried fruits and cream cheese filling was absolutely divine. Truly the highlight of the meal.

What really made the evening special was the staff. Our main server was attentive, kind, and incredibly on top of things, making sure everything ran smoothly. The bathrooms were also clean and thoughtfully designed (a small detail, but one I always appreciate!). And don’t miss the stunning street art mural at the entrance—it’s a great photo op and adds to the charm.

If you’re looking for a spot with great ambiance, friendly service, and a solid drink and dessert game, this is a lovely choice—especially for a celebratory night out or a cozy catch-up over cava and cake.

Overpriced. Terribly slow service 2:45 for a standard dinner with appetizer, entree and dessert. Random 3% “surcharge” for no reason adds insult to injury.

Butternut squash soup was very nice, steak frites entree was fine, chocolate cake was dry.

The food is ok. But the service is eceptional.i order the house burger. Flavor is good it's just the bread overwhelm the experience of eating a burger. I taste more bread than the meat it self. This is not a complain. Every restaurants or chef has their own way of preparing or making their burger.

*Dropped from 3 stars to 2. I had to chase management myself just to get a response. Had I not initiated contact, this review would have been ignored entirely. Reaching out to the reviewer or posting a public reply is the bare minimum—it wasn’t done. That says everything.*

Dinner here was… eventful.

Started with a spider in my water glass. The server swapped the glass, but oddly didn’t replace the bottle it came from. Not exactly what you expect when you’re poured a surprise eight-legged guest.

The menu was decent, but charging $5 for fries with a burger? Really? And bread and butter at a French-inspired place shouldn’t be extra. That’s like charging for forks.

We ordered two drinks and burgers. My friend skipped the fries, I didn’t. The food arrived—but no drinks. We asked, and were told they were “at the bar.” That’s great, but maybe… grab them? I didn’t come here for a live service update.

To top it off, they charged my friend for the fries she didn’t order. When we pointed it out, the server looked at her like she was trying to pull off a heist. Definitely a skeptical vibe and not the warmest response, though I’ll chalk that up to interpretation.

Then came a mysterious “health and wellness surcharge.” No explanation, no mention on the menu. Maybe Evanston’s trying something new, but transparency would help.

On the plus side: food and drinks tasted good. But cocktails arriving after the meal kills the mood. Drinks should kick off the evening, not close it out.

Still undecided about returning. The food had promise, but the service felt like it needed a reset.
