The shrimp Poboy was tough and tasteless! The waiter who took our order didn't bring a drink I ordered and never came to check if we needed anything! The venue is colorful. It was sadly our first and last visit.

Our waiter and he came across like we were a burden to him. I’ve never had bad service here so I’m not sure if he was just having a bad day but it was apparent he was not having it with us. We came in when it was slow around 3pm and he would sigh a lot whenever he would come to the table. We ask for another glass of wine (second for me during the meal) and he sighed at my friend and said rudely “ohhhhhkay.”

Hopefully a one off. The food was great though and I will still come back!

Love going here for special brunches with my kids. The atmosphere is fun, the food is great, and the staff are super friendly. We love the nicoise salad, the quesadillas, french toast, any of the breakfasts, and of course the corn bread. I mean, honestly, i could list the whole menu, its all good. The cream soda is top notch too. There's a reason its an Evanston institution!

Lucky Platter is an eating establishment dating back to 1991 in South Evanston. I never dined there, but a group of my friends and I recently met there for lunch. What a delight! It was like stepping back in time upon entering. Our waiter took our drink order and returned with the beverages in no time! I would recommend the Bloody Mary. We then ordered our lunch items. I opted for the Portabello Mushroom on a Brioche Bun. The mushroom was dressed with lettuce and tomato and came with a spicey mayonnaise dressing. I deleted the onion straws and requested the mayonnaise on the side. My sandwich came with a side, so I ordered the sweet potato fries. My meal arrived in a short period of time. It was delicious! I would definitely return!

I’ve been here many times and had brunch with my brunch group on Sunday. There were 6 of us and we all had a lovely meal. The food is delicious and the service excellent. Great to have hot delicious coffee refilled regularly. Also nice to be able to easily order with exceptions and substitutions to accommodate individual preferences.

Wonderful dining experience and oddly my first time here. Not my last! I treated myself to a non-classic Benedict, the Crab Cake served on thin cornbread with hollandaise sauce and poached eggs on a bed of baby spinach! I added a 3rd poached egg, and sided it with bacon and the most beautifully sliced and arranged avocado that I almost didn’t eat it - haha, it was delicious. I particularly like bacon and avocado eaten together and bacon was cooked to perfection. Great friendly service! Will I be back for breakfast? YES, but they offer lunch and the Pantry next door has even more offerings! Great “old fashioned” restaurant/store you might find in Door County!
