This restaurant is a blessing for me because they have multiple levels of spice adjustment options. This restaurant offers Spice level Zero which tastes good and is perfect for me. Thank you for offering these, please always keep this in all your vegetarian items. I wish that all restaurants were this smart and offered this option. Please also add simple chapati and tandoor roti on your menu for the ultimate homestyle food pairing! Just a little less salt would be even better, otherwise your dal makhni and malai kofta are very good, at level zero! Thank you!
Dietary restrictions: Spice level zero available and up to level 9!

Ordered carry out which was ready on time. We ordered the samosa chat and the Malai kofta, both were really good. We've had great experiences in the past as well.

Go to indian restaurant in Evanston. Their food is delicious, making it one of two restaurants I go to on a weekly basis.

This place makes good bhatura (bhatoora). The "chana masala" they have on menu which typically goes with the bhatura is not the typical chole bhature style chole. The chana masala has chana with some other vegetables in it, kind of like how paneer masala is made. Just be aware of this. I would recommend that the owners probably consider changing the chana masala to just chana.Otherwise the bhatura was very well made, ONE OF THE BEST that I have seen in a while. Big in size and just perfectly made. Not too crips and not too soft, just perfect.
Parking: The street in front has lots of parking available. You can look a satellite image of this location, plenty of parking available right in front of the store.

Excellent food. We loved it. Loved that you can name your spice level and level 5 is spicy but still flavorful. We have our favorite spot for Indian food and after tonight we have a new favorite. Service was a little slow but the worker was doing his best. I can't wait to return for another meal. The chicken tika masala was great and the vindiloo was too. Loved the garlic naan also. Small place but should not be overlooked.

My partner and I went here for dinner on a whim and it did not disappoint. The samosas in particular were absolute standouts, but all the food was excellent - we got paneer makhani, garlic naan, a mango lassi, and kheer to end the night. The two of us shared the aforementioned and felt very satisfied - a great value for wonderful food. Our server was attentive and friendly, checking in on us while balancing other tables, cleaning up, and handling pick up orders. We haven’t stopped singing their praises since we left and definitely hope to be back.

My wife and I have been looking for a great Indian restaurant that we could enjoy at a reasonable price.Mumbai Indian Grill, recently reopened for dinner, after being take-out only during the period following the pandemic. A grand reopening for lunch has been announced, so watch for the lunch specials. The food was exceptional. You can immediately recognize that the dishes are homemade. We ordered the chicken curry, which was very flavorful, and the vegetable rice biryani, which was more than ample in size and equally flavorful. It's great to eat homemade food in a restaurant again. The overall value of a meal is terrific. We paid $36 which includes tax and tip for our meal, and essentially had an extra meal since the serving sizes are quite large. The service by our waiter Bimal was better than excellent, attentive, and extremely friendly. You can order dishes from mild to spicy using a scale of 1–5. Some dishes come with your choice of naan or rice, while others come only with rice. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Evanston, which is convenient with plenty of downtown parking. The restaurant is tastefully decorated in a casual and comfortable ambiance which is appropriate for a relaxed meal with friends or colleagues. We are making Mumbai Indian a regular go-to restaurant for lunches, dinners, and takeout because of its great tastes, superb value, and event service.

Life changing experience please go dine in and have the most wonderful service of your life. I have never felt so loved and taken care of and full of water. My belly was so full of yummy tummy Indian cuisine and water. So much water. Loved it very good. The lights are a little too bad but the warmth and charm of server man made up for it.

We are huge fans of Mumbai Grill. Good is always excellent and generous with portions. Try to Aloo Chana and Tikka Masala for sure along with some naan and a couple samosas! They are closed for dine in but definitely order from them - you won’t be sorry! Evanston is lucky to have them.
