My wife grew up in Evanston, we were visiting and I'd never had a Chicago dog before. Pretty good food. Place isn't fancy but its a hot dog stand, not Ruth's Chris.
A perfect example of a local treasure that can't be replicated. The atmosphere is local and legitimate. The food is exactly how you want it to be. The staff is friendly and pleasant to interact with. If you're in Evanston, it's a must stop.
Who cares about atmosphere. Bit like eating inside a mailbox, but outside tables great weather permitting. Besides, if you want excellent fast food you must stop here. It's an institution, and a bribe when kids were good at Dr.s up the road corndogs w fries was their favorite reward!
