Newport Coffee House feels like a cozy retreat, in my opinion the best coffee place in Evanston. The coffee is rich and balanced and the staff always greet you with a smile. It’s the kind of place where the pastries are gone fast and the cappuccino is worth coming back for. There’s plenty of seats, friendly faces and it just has a relaxed vibe - perfect for hanging out or getting some work done.

I love coming here to catch up with friends, or to sit and get some work done, or to just get a quick drink on the go! Their matcha lattes are amazing and so are their maple vanilla lattes. The staff is super nice and friendly, their pastries and drinks are so yummy, and the brunch/lunch menu they serve on weekends are delicious! The Swedish knot is my favorite. It's very nice, clean, and bright in here making it a great place to stop and hang out.

Have enjoyed the lattes and love love the cardamon rolls & other Swedish pastries. And the atmosphere & decor! I accidentally discovered Newport last yr and when ever I or my wife & I get the chance we make the drive up to Evanston from the city. And being raised w/ a Swedish grandmother who baked... Newport's pastries are a special treat -comfort food.

Service here is horrendous. As a customer who spends $6 to $14 dollar daily on their products you think customer service would come with it. But they are extremely rude. They don't make the drinks right and try to short change with ingredients. The blonde girl working g today 10/08/25 this morning was so nasty with her behavior if looks could kill her mannerisms were so rude. The only few employees that are good are Daniel, the woman with red hair and the gentleman with the afro and glasses who actually know how to make drinks and do their job properly. The owner really needs to do something because this place will start to lose loyal customers. There is also a woman that worked one morning and coughed all over the pastries she had a pixie cut dark brown hair and it was disgusting. I love the products here but who you get can be a hit and miss. And they never answer the phone!

A wonderful place to indulge in some caffeine and sugar! Newport Coffee House gets pretty packed with students and plenty of other people because it is a great cafe to study or hang out with friends. The interior is bright and inviting, and the workers were all friendly. I got a latte and chocolate croissant, which were both good. If you’re looking for a new spot to cram all your weekly reading, give Newport Coffee House a visit!

I have never had hot latte in a tall glass that allows me to appreciate the layers of colors. The quiche was delicate, light crust, the custard was infused with warm spices pleasantly surprised me. And a stainless steel fork instead of plastic utensils is a plus.
