Such a warm and welcoming experience! This shop is run by one person and the owner is proud of her work and she makes almost everything in the shop! And all the chocolate and pastries are made in house. We tried the cheesecake and it’s so yummy! Will be back again!

I came here the other day and I got the chocolate chip cookies, bourbon cookies, marshmallow and dark chocolate. Everything I got was FANTASTIC. The chocolate chip cookies here are the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve EVER had- no competition. The chocolate quality is so wonderful. On top of that the service was incredible as well. I cannot wait to come back!!

The handmade chocolates are the real deal, and the New Orleans-style beignets are a delicious treat. What’s more, the genuine warmth and kindness of the lady working there towards my daughter, who was visiting Chicagoland for the first time, made a massive impression upon her. We’ll be back the next time we’re in Evanston.

I've kicked myself on two occasions: both times when I forgot to place an order for my holiday pie from Noir d'Ébenè. Closest "almost like home" flavors I've found outside of my mother's kitchen. Customer service is spectacular because every customer is treated like a beloved family member. Pâtisseries prepared with love are sold and served with love here.
They have top notch bakery items and drinks. It's set in a nice neighborhood with a bunch of great shops.

I keep going back, hoping it will get better. The store is full of random doo-dads and not much actual product. Apparently I'm supposed to ask for specific product and maybe it's in freezer or in back of store? But how do I know what to ask for? I just wish it was organized in a way that was easier to navigate, with fully stocked shelves of chocolate/cookies, etc. Store hours are wonky, which seems to be the case of most of the stores in that area so I guess the owners all got together & thought this made sense? I won't give up, since I want to support local businesses. But I must add that while yes, there are a few delicious items, there are also some 'meh' items, all of which are quite pricey. Plus the packaging is a bit much (too much plastic & too many folds, stickers & labels). Maybe with more efficient packaging, prices would go down a bit? I also think there's a marketing issue. Perhaps stick to chocolate and sweets and phase out savory and seafood? Too much going on.
