I use to eat at the Reza's downtown many years ago, it was my favorite restaurant in the city before it closed down. I didn't think they had a location that was open (the one in uptown closed down too) and when it popped up as a nearby option when I was recently in Evanston, I had to go. Unfortunately, they were closed for a private party but they still had the to-go option available so I ordered the combo #2, filet and lamb with dill rice. Even to-go, it was everything I remember from before. I definitely will be back more often and have added this place to my list of restaurants to take people who want to eat various ethnic foods.

I was excited to find a new location ( 3 yrs in Evanston), since Reza's on Clark St in Chicago closed. I got the Combo Kabobs. Lamb and Beef Koubideh Kabobs with Dill Rice and Flatbread.
It was a cold and rainy day so the Tomato Soup hit the spot.

Let me start by saying, I LOVE REZA's. I have been going to their many locations for over 30 years. But sadly, I was very let down by my experience on Sunday, 11/17/2024. We arrived at 5:00 and were the only ones in the restaurant. We already know that this location was buffet only on Sunday, and were OK with that. The buffet at this location was TERRIBLE. And not just terrible for $30 per person. Just terrible. The meats were dry from having been on the steam table too long (probably not turned from the Lunch buffet). The only vegetarian options were three kinds of rice, mashed potatoes or sliced whole potatoes, that were VERY old in the pan and a lettuce salad. Where was the falafel? Baba ganoush? Even the hummus seemed sub par, when the dried out pita from the steam table pans was all you had to dip into it.
Will I stop going to Reza's? NO. We love their food under normal circumstances. But if they want to bring in diners on Sundays for their buffet. They REALLY need to step up their game. No more Sundays at Reza's in Evanston for us.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Food is trash. Also this restarurant hosts underage drinking for students at NU at the venue next door and the kids puke all over the sidewalk. If you're going to break the law, at least clean up your mess.

Glad to see rhey still exist. Went to the Clark Street & Ontario location years ago. We had our ladies, Christmas luncheon there for 10 of us. It was a delicious display of chicken, beef, rice salads, hummus & more. It was a buffet. We all had tea & baklava for dessert. This was our 2nd Christmas luncheon there.

After 6 visits I find the quality of the food to be very inconsistent. I have ordered the same thing twice and once it was great and and next time is was not finished cooking with notably fewer vegetables included. The "vegetarian feast" dish did not list onions as an ingredient but there were many present. I am allergic to onions and this was a big problem. On my last visit, my guests reported disappointment with their choices also.

After my second time ordering Reza’s I must say it’s as good as the first time! My food is always so fresh, even after I reheat it the following day.

Since moving to Evanston from Chicago they must have forgotten their recipes. Extremely disappointed with the food and customer service. I placed an order online and after my 30 minute drive there was told the $23 I paid for hot sauce that they were out. I was offered tahini which is not the same or even comparable. The (manager) went to the back and provided something that I don't know what to call it, but was told it was their hot sauce. I have eaten Reezas for over 10 years not sure what he gave my but definitely was not their hot sauce. Tomato Lentil soup is to die for, but the reat of the $100 order ended up in the garbage. Unfortunately I will never again eat at Reezas because of this experience. They will fit right in, in the middle of one of the worst suburbs in the world. Another reason to never go to Evanston again.
