A delicious spot offering a good variety of Asian dishes! Popular among Evanston locals and students, this restaurant gets quite busy, so food can take a little while to come out. I recommend getting different dishes to share so that you can get a taste of everything. We had the Taiwanese beef noddles, beef chow fun, seafood jjambbong, and salt and pepper calamari. The food was also freshly cooked and flavorful. It’s a bit pricey, but if you’re looking for another good Asian spot in Evanston, try Shang Noodle!

Great find while visiting Northwestern -- warm, friendly place filled with locals and students. Good fun energy to the place on a Saturday night. We had two entrees and a couple appetizers. All were outstanding. The Chow Fun was exceptional.

Me and my boyfriend really love shangs and we have never had a problem with any of the servers but the older lady i want to say is the manager but not sure.. she was working today (8/11). We typically like leaving a cash tip instead of the online tipping so my boyfriend was going to leave a no tip on the card reader and the lady said to chose the other options which were a really high tip for such a low amount. I wasn’t going to plan on leaving 20$ worth of tips for a 30$ meal like what? she never assisted us with anything unlike the other servers who were really on top of their work. she got really annoyed when we left less than 10% cause how are you going to force us to tip you for service you didn’t even do but walk around??

A friend and myself went to eat at this spot yesterday evening. When it was time to pay, my friend paid first and the lady told them they could not press no tip, forcing them to choose an amount. When it was my turn to pay and got ready to take care of tip, I asked are we not able to “click” no tip, she said no because you ate in. I asked so what if I plan to leave cash? She said then you can press no tip. I clicked custom tip and left an amount. But there was a bad taste in my mouth as well as my friend due to the assumption made as well as “our choice” being taken away based on our experience. This showed disrespect, greed, and I would say some form of bias based on assumption that no tip would be left at all because no tip was selected. One thing is for sure. My friend nor myself will return back and it is not due to the food but those that run this place! Shame on you!!!

The food was excellent! Each dish was served as it was ready so everyone’s food came out piping hot. Our rather picky grandson loved his so much he wanted to go back again. The service was good, but the staff could have been a bit more attentive. Overall, we will dine there again.
Many of their foods taste really good, probably one of the best options for chinese food in town.

Visited this location a couple times and it's always been a great time. Food is delicious with big portions, always have leftovers to take home. The service is fast and attentive. On my last visit they had quite a few to-go and catering orders, but they were still able to take orders and serve food without much of a wait. Will definitely visit this location more and more in the future.
