Always delicious, consistent, fast and fresh. Prices are still reasonable to match the portion sizes. Not huge but not small. Even though the place is smallish and seating can be somewhat limited, guests move in and out regularly and there is rarely much of a wait for a table if any. This is my go to for Korean.

Went with 9 people, everyone got something different and either folks were hungry, the food was good, or both, because there were few leftovers.
I thought the food today was much better than in the past, but it could have been the great company. They say food tastes better with good conversation, and we definitely had relaxed, fun conversation this evening.
This is the only full-menu Korean restaurant in Evanston, and the food is quite good. I recommend the stews and the scallion pancake.
Extra points for service and menu tweaks accommodating vegetarians and people who don't eat seafood.

This was my first visit. My server was informative and attentive and helped me choose an appropriate spice level for my main entree. The food was delicious, and I plan to return to try more items.

Small place; eager to describe their dishes and the spice levels to we neophytes and to make suggestions. I often find Korean places intimidating for non-Koreans somehow.

Delicious food, great atmosphere. Without a doubt, Soban is one of my favorite places to eat in Chicagoland.

A small, cozy restaurant with exceptionally friendly staff. We ordered the Japchae and the beef bulgogi, and both were absolutely delicious.

Hidden Gem for sure. The place is very cozy. I always get the kimchi stew and spicy chicken bulgogi. I have gotten other things like the kimchi pancake -- its all been great. I love this place and would go here everyday if they were open.

I ordered dolsot bibimbop. I don’t think it’s enough for an adult. It’s so small and also for the chicken, is very less.

Tasty, good price and good service.
it’s good! This is one of my favorite places to go in Evanston, not just because of the food but the staff and place itself. The interior is traditional dark wood timber and brick walls, and is quite airy and bright. I love me a booth. It gets big cute points for being freaking…cute. The service is friendly and patient, the food is limited but what they do serve is …cute and delicious. The Dolsot BBB is wonderfully crispy and fresh, a wonderful light lunch, no weigh down, heavy drowsiness, the hotdog stew is spicy and surprising filling. Everything is in modest portions and thereby justify the affordability. Royal milk tea cools it all off! Go.
