It was my first time ordering from this place and the custom cakes looked appealing enough to order one for my sister's birthday. I called the shop as well asking what type of custom cakes they could do and the person said they could do anything. I had put the order in two days in advance and thought it would be enough time for them to get back to me if there were any changes on things they couldn't do. Instead, this place gets back to me a day before the order should have been done to say they couldn't complete my request at all so I went back and forth making adjustments on the order just for them to say its really short notice and to send payment but they would get back to me in an hour W/O CONFIRMING THE CHANGES I WANTED ON MY ORDER! I'm very disappointed with the lazy form of communication this shop had needless got a cake from some place else.

Ordered a vanilla cake with mango filling for my son's birthday. The cake looked great and was delicious. I also bought a tres leches cake for an event and it was also delicious. I will definitely be going back when I need another cake. The staff I've delt with at the shop have been very friendly and helpful.

Sweet Temptations has the BEST Tres Leches cake in all of Chicago! The staff is lovely, the prices are right, and the cake is simply outstanding. We are so lucky to have this little bake shop in our neighborhood!

This place always does an amazing job! A little on the pricey side, but super worth it, they can recreate almost any design. I also love the ease of being able to send in an email inquiry and get a response almost immediately.

The holiday and fruit pies were meh. The pumpkin was okay and the apple pie had too much cornstarch or gelatinous ingredient. I will not return. However, if you are in a pinch and need pies to bring, they may be available for last minute purchases.
I ordered my husband's favorite, a Boston Cream Pie for his birthday. Probably the best one we have ever had. Everyone agreed that it was delicious. This will be our go to bakery. It was simply delicious.

I would highly recommend this place! I ordered a cake from here for my daughter's birthday and showed a reference picture. When we picked up the cake it looked amazing, exactly like the picture, it was very beautiful. It tasted just as good as it looked. It was very light, airy, and moist, very wonderful flavors. The customer service was excellent and very helpful and descriptive, they answered any questions I had about the process. Overall, I would definitely go back and highly encourage going here!!
