I have been to many steak house restaurants around the country. Most have been good. While not a traditional steak house experience, The Barn was hands down the best filet I have ever experienced (others at the table said the same) and the service was impeccable. We will absolutely make this a must visit next time in Chicago. Thank you.
Great service and ambiance. The restaurant was surprisingly loud compared to previous outings. As always, the food was good but it is a little expensive compared to similar quality restaurants.
Fantastic, as it was when we visited last year. Food is so good and server (Dani) fantastic.
A great dinner and a wonderful evening. Both starters and main courses are classics with contemporary touches. To kick off the evening, try the espresso martini, a delight. The French onion soup is, as they say, iconic, very satisfying; the caviar sandwich is a more adventurous starter, but I loved it and never though such an approach could work so well--tangy but rich. The branzino was perfectly cooked and beautifully garnished. And what to say about the lobster risotto with lobster? Sensational, and an impressive presentation. Generous, too; I took some of the risotto home and enjoyed every bite of lobster. We didn't need a side of Robouchon potatoes, but from experience I know how good they are, and we were celebrating an anniversary, so why not? I could make dinner just from them. Cheesecake made a light finish. Charming service, attentive but never obtrusive; we felt at home. They know how to create great food at The Barn, and on top of that they understand hospitality--warm and welcoming. We could not have wished for a better or more festive dinner. Thank you to The Barn Steakhouse and its first-rate staff.
Tomahawk was massive and delicious. Mashed potatoes were chunky but flavor was perfect. The Gruyère Mac and cheese was on the dry side.

Took my wife for her birthday and the food and service were just unreal. Had the burrata & shrimp for apps, and the branzino and filet for entrees (seared crust of the filet was mind blowing, topped with truffle butter-- cannot go wrong with this steak). Our server Kellie was perfection, even the floor/house manager was great. The huge alpaca portrait on the wall is about the worst thing I found to date say about this place.

Our favorite restaurant in Evanston!! From the staff, ambiance, music to food, it's so 10 out of 10.
Consistently excellent service and food. They are great with food allergies and the cocktails rival any available at great bars in Chicagoland. Amy Morton knows how craft a warm and comfortable environment and the venue is spectacular. Steaks and sides are fairly priced and perfectly prepared. A winner located in a fun location down an alley in Evanston!

We've always enjoyed the Barn and have been several times. This past weekend we actually went back after a longish break. And we had a lovely time. I was thrilled to see a couple of new items on the menu as I had had the previous ones several times (I don't usually have the steak). The other three in our group had steaks which are always excellent. It was a Sunday evening so the noise level was perfect - and we were able to enjoy our conversation. But above all, the service was outstanding. Our server, Milena, was so attentive. A couple of us had some dietary restrictions, and she was excellent about understanding them (I think she even must have checked our requests from previous visits), cross checking with the kitchen and making sure everything worked for each one of us. We were celebrating an engagement and she brought us some celebratory desserts! And to top it all she helped us get some lovely photos to capture the fun evening and celebration. Definitely glad we went to celebrate at the Barn!
Six of us had a great dinner here Saturday night. Our server was just terrific with a diverse group of diners. Great cocktails and wine, too. All in all just a great experience.

This place is so special to us. We had one of our first dates here, it was our favorite meal to carry out during COVID, the place we had our wedding reception and where we celebrate anniversaries. Delicious food, great service, wonderful vibe.
The Barn is our favorite special-occasional restaurant in Evanston. The ambience, service, food, and drinks are always excellent. The Little Gem Salad is a longtime favorite!
Love this place. Great deal from 5 to 6. Get salad, steak, potatoes, and dessert for $45. The menu is varied with everything is good. Service exceptional as is atmosphere. Have a great time .👍

Our server, Dani, was incredible! Super knowledgeable and attentive. Cocktails were great! There was a late issue with one of our entrees, which management addressed immediately. Overall had a wonderful experience.
Amazing service by all staff. Ben (our waiter)had perfect timing with our meal. We started w a delicious Burrata. We did the fixed prix dinner then, and my spouse and I both had the Manhattan cut steak cooked med rare. Mine was tender and flavorable, and my spouse's was a little tough. The potatoes were top notch, and the salad too wet for my taste, though I know many people love their dressing. Enjoyed the carrot cake. Overall a wonderful evening, with good ambience. Restaurant full on a Tues nite. Would return in a heartbeat.
