overpriced, long wait time
This spot is a great new addition to downtown Evanston. Tried the carrribean jerk wrap and sunset sunrise smoothie and they were both delicious. Plus great service.

Whomever was working at 1 pm on July 22 deserves a raise. Quite possibly the best smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe that I've ever had (out of easily more than 100). She was extremely friendly, multitasked really well, and kept the store super clean. Glad to have discovered this location so close to my house.

I’ve encountered 2 negative experiences which prompted this review. I’m writing in hopes that mgmt will provide additional trainings to their staffs to improve customer service. 1) Ordered a 3 smoothies thru the app but found when I came to pick up that they ran out 2 of the drinks I ordered. I picked a replacement for 1 but wanted to cancel the 2nd. The staff said he can’t cancel the other order (which they ran out), I don’t believe this. Had no choice but to pick another replacement. 2) As the staff handed me the drinks, he asked if I took a cookie. Clearly there’s nothing in my hands and there were other customers there the whole time I was there. I left feeling insulted by the question.

My fiancé and I went to this location on July 4th around 1-2pm and the tall gentleman there was super helpful and has great customer services skills. A great tropical smoothie location!

Love Tropical Smoothie Cafe! So I was super excited when one opened up in Evanston. Maybe it’s because they’re new but the service is incredibly slow. I waited for 20 minutes for a kids smoothie and the employee didn’t look like be had any sense of urgency. Plus I missed my train twice from waiting so long (which is my own fault for stopping in 🥲).

I was excited to try Tropical Smoothie now that it’s opened in Evanston, but my first visit left a bad impression. When I walked in, the employee behind the counter was having a personal conversation with someone. As I approached to place my order, I wasn’t acknowledged at all—not even a “Hi” or “I’ll be with you in a moment.” Even the person they were talking to pointed out I was waiting, saying “Take care of her,” but the employee still didn’t respond.
After standing there for a few minutes with no acknowledgment whatsoever, I left. Really disappointing first experience—especially for a new location trying to build a customer base.

Yeah!!! Finally, one in Evanston. I had several of the items including a Santa Fe Chicken Dilla, Jalapeño Corn, The new Acai Nutella bowl and others. The staff and service are tropicalriffic.
PS. Also, there going to open another one in Streeterville next month. Follow us on here
