The food... oh my goodness. When I tell you everything we tried was amazing! I mean it! This is the first restaurant we've been to in a while that we truly enjoyed every single thing we ordered. I can't wait to go back! Those were the best fried green tomatoes I've ever had! And the lobster deviled eggs were so so good! This place is a must try! The drinks are strong too! I wasn't even able to finish my drink!
We were the last patrons in the establishment and most of the food choices were not available. However, they found a way to service all of our party. Food was fantastic. And the owner even came out to greet us. We will definitely be back and refer other patrons.
Music way too loud . Service slow and awkward. Food is delicious. I will not come back . Too expensive for the whole experience.
My sister & I walked in it seemed to be a lot confusion at the check in with the party in front of us. Security jumped in to help seat us promptly. Our server greeted us & told her she would be with us shortly, the vibe was good the DJ was playing good music. We ordered 2 appetizers the fried tomatoes which were good & the salmon croquettes. The croquettes came out much darker and smelled like they were burnt possibly cooked in some burnt grease. We sent them back & requested the deviled with grilled shrimp. Almost 10 minutes later the manager brought the same salmon croquettes back to the table & said “what was the problem because they are not burnt”. I said they smell burnt so we just want to send them back without trying them to avoid disappointment. She said “they are not burnt and the grease is fresh we have to cook them like that for them to be done... I make salmon croquettes at home and they won't be done in the middle “ I said “I make them at home as well I don't like the way they look or smell so we would just like to swap the app”. She said “well since I know they're not burnt I won't be doing that you can have them remade or I can take them off the bill”, I said please remove them from the bill. My sister got the oxtails and grits which was ok, I got the lamb chops medium well, eggs scrambled with cheese , potatoes, and peach cobbler French toast... the lamb chops were fatty and very flimsy (undercooked) the eggs and potatoes were cold cheese never melted and the French toast was soggy and cold (maybe because of the peaches). I didn't bother to say anything to the server because it was clear that management was not interested in satisfying the customers but more so removing the blame from themselves. Another security guard (Cool was his name) noticed I nibbled on the food and we were looking for our server for the bill so he asked if he could do anything,I said no he asked if I like the food I explained my experience all in all food not good vibe was good.
It was my friend‘s birthday and she had a great time. The service was on point. They made us feel right at home from the moment we entered the restaurant. I recommend this place to anyone who would like to go somewhere that has not only great food, but great ambience.
Everything was great . We ordered several things off their menu . My 5 jumbo shrimp was fried just a little too hard which made them over cooked. The Gumbo catfish & grits was decent Another dish was the Jerk chicken pasta - again the sauce was giving Rasta Pasta but more like a pot pie type sauce but the Oxtail & grits was top tier and so were the lamb chops as well as their hot honey wings. The honey croissants were delicious too. All the drinks were Top Tier... The overall experience was amazing. The music the decorum and the atmosphere of Toast It Iz was great. Fast service , quick seating ( when you have reservations) just a beautiful place to have Brunch .
I met some friends here for brunch the food was good but the music was extremely loud we were unable to hear each other. They are a bit pricey. I had the mimosa flight it was extremely sweet with barely any champagne in it. Our server was cool.
This restaurant is amazing! The food is phenomenal. The service is incredible. The ladies that work there are absolutely gorgeous!! It’s definitely a vibe
I just left here as I spent the weekend in Chicago and this was the best restaurant I’ve been to. So 🔥. Drinks 10/10, food 10/10. I’m definitely stopping here next time I come back.
Tried out Toast it IZ for brunch today for Father's Day. It was a lively and interesting experience. First, the food was good. I enjoyed the Chicken and Banana Pudding Waffles. The chicken was impressively cooked and seasoned well, not dry or over cooked. They served 4 winglets with the meal with my only con is for price should have been full wing portions. But very tasty. My banana pudding waffle was okay a little soagy and had a slight burnt taste. Also, at the table we had catfish poor boy which was well prepared and delicious. The soul food sides of greens, mac and cheese were also well received. Had a couple of cocktails too, the Harlem Mint and Margarita Flight. I found the Harlem Mint a bit sugary for my liking. But overall we enjoyed our food! Now the atmosphere was lively and bumping. In fact much too lively in my group's opinion. There was a DJ blast beats and engaging the crowd well. However, it was too and one could necessarily loud. It made us feel like we were having brunch in a nightclub on the dance floor. We couldn't have conversation as it was much too loud to hear each other. However, many of the patrons there seemed very into this vibe and appeared to be having a fun and festive time. I love music and a lively nightclub atmosphere myself but at the club not at brunch with the family. So, that atmosphere for dining was meh to blah for us. But as I said many there were really into it, just not the type atmosphere I expected for brunch. Go there try the food it good soul cuisine and if you like loud club music vibe this place will be your jam...

Came in from out of town .. the staff was AMAZING very accommodating one of the best experiences I've had .... and a special shout out to the security graud with the gray beard..... super nice 👌🏿
The food was okay grits were a little runny. My waiter was very nice. The music was on point.
I visited Toast back in April, and overall it was just okay — definitely more vibe than value.
When we walked in, the energy was up — loud music, lively crowd, and a party-like atmosphere. If you’re trying to turn up at brunch with your crew, this is your kind of spot. But if you’re looking for something more laid back or family-friendly, this ain’t it. I actually saw a couple families with kids leave almost as soon as they sat down. I get it.
The food itself was good, no complaints there. But the prices are high, and to top it off, they hit us with an automatic 18% gratuity at 2 in the afternoon — which would’ve been fine if the service matched. It didn’t.
Our food took forever to come out. I ordered a cocktail (an old-fashioned), and it came in a dirty glass and wasn’t even half full. Told them I didn’t want it — they tried to hand me some random drink instead like that would fix it. Nope.
One of my friends ordered shrimp and grits with sausage… and got no sausage. The waitress tried to say maybe she ate it already? Then said she could go to the back and grab some sausage for her to add herself. Ma’am, what?
Our bill for three people came out to almost $200, and honestly the experience didn’t reflect that price. I’d maybe do takeout in the future, but I wouldn’t come back to dine in.
This is your go to for a good time with friends, groove to R&B music, a lil trap brunch & lunch. The food was good, I've been twice and nothing really disappointed. Definitely make reservations 2 weeks prior to going for 6 or more. I'd say make reservations regardless but they do take walk-ins. Definitely a vibe for young and mid-age. Ohhh the jambalaya, we wasn't a fan. The best fried green tomatoes!!! The Jerked Chicken Pasta was very good plus I added shrimp, enough to share for 2 people. Drinks were good too! Very energetic with loud hip-hop music and sing-a-long favorites.
We were enjoying breakfast when I was unexpectedly asked to move to make room for a larger party. While I understand the need to accommodate guests, being asked to move mid-meal felt inconvenient and slightly inappropriate especially since we were nearly finished. The vibe was great overall, but I hope management considers better timing or alternative solutions.
