We like McAlister’s Deli but I thought I’d share a review for this Fairview Heights location because it was perfect this evening. The staff were all friendly and kept busy doing some extra cleaning unlike most restaurants where they stand around instead of making the dining area tidy. Our food was great. My last compliment would be there was relaxing music playing, almost Zen-like! We will probably drive a few minutes further next time to visit this location.

I ordered from McAlister’s Deli for the first time ever today and was honestly pretty disappointed with how the timing was handled. I placed my order online at 10:00am, a full half hour before they even opened, specifically so it would be ready at 11 AM. But when I showed up on time, I was told there’d be a delay because they were busy with a large order placed before opening. I pointed out that I also placed my order before opening and yet mine wasn’t prioritized at all, and that i was on a limited 30 minute lunch break. The clerk gave me a hollow apology followed by indifference to my situation. In the end, I had to wait an extra 10 minutes, which cut into my lunch break.
I understand that things can get busy, but it was frustrating to feel like my order wasn’t treated fairly given the advance notice. The food was fine once I got it, but the experience definitely needs improvement.
If a business can’t reliably have orders ready at the promised time, the least they could do is offer a discount, free dessert, or some kind of compensation when they inconvenience customers. A little accountability goes a long way. They offered nothing. I will not be dining there a second time.

place is a joke, everything we order takeout the order is never correct. Soups were dumped sideways in the bag spilling everywhere and workers don't care about it.
Always great food service was slow this time but that is the exception as usually my order is waiting for me . My Salad was delicious as always. I usually order online and pickup and my order. I think they were short staffed and just overwhelmed today.

My husband came in for a take out order on 4/13/25 11:07 AM. We got a bowl and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup along with one just a spud and one carrot cake. We've been eating at McAlister's dinning in and take out for quite awhile never had an issue until today the soup was not as good as normal. It was darker in texture tasted a bit different and very little broccoli ended up dumping it out. Just wanted to let you know don't know if you went with a different brand or what. Otherwise your food is great and great service.

Haven't been to this establishment since November of 21. The manager running this place is a joke. No spuds at 2:00 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. Very little meat on the sandwiches now out where the salt, pepper and sweetener was. Both of them was completely empty. Terrible location
