Haven’t been to the Golden Steer in about 15 years. Still basically the same great steak house. Started with baked French Onion soup and it was delicious! Flavorful broth and lots of cheese. Big fillet cooked to perfection at medium rare and baked potato. Other order was a NY strip which was also cooked perfect. No frills place with good food. Sidenote get the cheesecake!

Great service , good food albeit limited selection - I guess the philosophy is focus on less items but make them high quality. Food isn’t cheap but it will last you at least 2 meals. It’s like a place out of time in some ways - charming , seems to cater a bit upscale, it’s like an ethnic white restaurant (like you know you can have Chinese or Japanese etc etc) - this place gives one a shot at a mix of European food - and I don’t means burgers/ pizza /insert chain crap...
