“We have a blast every time we come to the VFW. The renovation, guests and staff make it the perfect ‘where everybody knows your name’ place to be. I can’t say enough about our favorite bartender, Kelly! She is such a sweetheart and remembers our favorite ‘beverage’ even after months of our last visit.
McHenry is so blessed to have this special place to have your favorite cocktail and GREAT food.“
“Diamond in the ruff!! Stopped by on a whim and was wowed!! Great selection of beers and cocktails and the pizza was amazing and we happened to be there on 1/2 price pizza night! Beautiful outdoor space with tons of seating selections, couches, tables, benches. Loved it. The best part was the amazing staff and beautiful bathrooms. I will be back!!“

“We had fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and shrimp and chicken carbarnara
which was good. Chicken gnocchi soup..good. the salmon was pretty bland and dry.
The chocolate cake was good the tiramisu was not very good (they muct have changed the recipe) and I won't order that again.
Overall it was a good experience but 1 meal and 1 dessert could have been better.“

“I Came back to McHenry to visit family and decided to try Antioch pizza in McHenry!!! Was not disappointed!!! It was Tuesday and saw that the stuffed pizzas are only available on Tuesday. so I decided to get one! Literally one of the absolute best Chicago style pizzas I've had in years!!!! I see why they are voted best pizza in 2024!!! I mean the thin crust is good here too but specifically the stuffed pizza was ridiculously delicious!!!! I'll be back in a year on a Tuesday!!! Thanks again!!!“

“My husband and I had grannies for breakfast this morning. It was our first time there and we had an amazing breakfast, but I have to tell you the staff is the best. I’ve seen in a long time.. we sat at the first three tables to the right as you enter Granny’s. I’m not sure of what waitresses name was, but she was so attentive and well spoken and very articulate to her craft. I was a server for a long time and as I say craft anyone in the industry knows, we have a way that we present ourselves and the service we provide to our guest. She’s got the special sauce. She’s amazing and I hope that the owners know what they have there.“

“Absolutely the best subs in the world I grew up eating these subs and every time I get a chance I'm still enjoying them. Have never changed a single thing in over 40 years. Keep doing what you are doing and I'll keep going out of my way to keep eating them.“
